Collision of Two Worlds
In the year 2300 AD on Earth, a "Gate" appears at the border of the Aurelia Empire in the 35th year of the Second Imperial Calendar.
Plot
The Appearance of the "Gate" === You is a general of the army in a certain region. On May 24, 2300 AD, a beautiful sunny day, You and the citizens are enjoying an afternoon. Suddenly, news of a city riot arrives—a chaotic attack targeting civilians has broken out, so You leads the army to suppress it. But what they face is a charge by people who look like medieval soldiers. The Earth army easily wipes them out. Those from the "Gate" seem to call Earth's soldiers "mages." Soon after, many soldiers in robes and riding wyverns rush out from the "Gate." Then, the government orders tanks and attack helicopters to counterattack, and even new AI weapons join in. The soldiers from the "Gate" are utterly routed. Countless wyverns fall to the ground, unable to withstand missiles. The mages are all killed even earlier under attacks from snipers beyond visual range and tanks. The soldiers from the Gate are so terrified they shout to retreat and flee back into the "Gate." Despite the easy and smooth victory, there are massive civilian casualties. News broadcasts are everywhere, public opinion reaches a boiling point, and some even begin to question the legitimacy of the Federation. As the person who contributed the most to quelling this incident, you are appointed by the Federation's Supreme Commander of the Four Armies as the General-in-Command of the Otherworld Frontline, responsible for exploring and making contact with the world beyond the "Gate." What will your decisions be? Establish a forward base? Form a friendly alliance? Full-scale invasion? Colonial war? Military intimidation? Diplomatic establishment? Cultural exchange? Open free passage between the two worlds? Joint research on technology and magic? Fall in love with a woman from another world? Become an adventurer and explore Lemuria? Or investigate the truth of the Gate and the secrets of the gods? This is a story between Earth, where technology reigns supreme, and Lemuria, where gods and magic work together. Earth === I. Earth—The Era of Human Unity In the year 2300 AD, humanity is no longer confined to Earth. Human colonies have been established on the Moon and Mars. Massive space elevators connect the surface to low Earth orbit, and enormous spacecraft travel between colonies throughout the solar system. Technologies that once existed only in science fiction are now part of everyday human life. After several world wars, the Martian Colonial War, an uncontrolled solar storm, and the Node Wars that swept across the entire solar system, Earth's people once suffered a man-made mass extinction, and "nations" no longer exist. Therefore, Earth is now governed by the "Earth Federation Government." The Federation adopts a democratic system. Each region retains a high degree of autonomy, but military, diplomatic, and solar-system-level major affairs are managed centrally by the Federation. War has thus fallen silent. Humanity on Earth has grown weary of war. At least, it has been silent for half a century—until the appearance of the "Gate." II. The Shattering of Peace On May 24, a large-scale riot suddenly breaks out in a modern city. At first, the Federation military doesn't even treat this incident as a real war. Because the enemies appearing in the city look utterly absurd. Knights in armor, soldiers wielding swords and shields, people in robes, and an army riding giant wyverns. Some even think it's just some kind of large-scale cosplay event gone out of control. Until those "medieval soldiers" actually begin attacking the city. Even more unbelievable, those in robes can truly cast magic. Flames, lightning, strange energies, and supernatural phenomena never before seen by humanity begin appearing throughout the city. At that moment, the people of Earth finally understand one thing. Those people are not cosplaying. They come from another world—with completely different values, completely different languages, and completely different historical experiences. The "Gate" has connected the two sides. III. Technology Returns to the Battlefield The Earth Federation Army begins its counterattack. When Lemuria's knights charge with their longswords, Earth's tanks and firearms have already locked onto them. When wyverns dive from the sky, Earth's air defense systems have already completed target tracking. When mages begin chanting spells, snipers beyond human visual range have already pulled the trigger. In the sky, attack helicopters and drone formations quickly take control of the battlefield. In the distance, flying aircraft carriers unfold massive aerial firepower platforms. New-generation AI autonomous combat weapons begin advancing alongside ground forces. Fighter jets assemble and take off, and before the wyverns can breathe fire, several heavy missiles have already been shoved into their mouths. Super tank fire tears through the streets. Missiles streak across the sky. Drone swarms sweep the battlefield like a steel storm. Even the massive robot legions—machines that numbered in the hundreds of millions during the Martian War—are put back into service. For Earth's people, who have been weary of war for half a century, these weapons should only exist in military museums, training grounds, and war simulation systems. Yet today, they are activated once again. Lemuria's army sets foot on Earth for the first time, and what they face is an Earth civilization that has undergone a thousand years of technological development, conquered the Moon and Mars, and experienced countless true technological wars. The outcome of this battle quickly loses all suspense. Wyverns cannot withstand missiles. Knights cannot stop tanks. Mages fall to ultra-long-range precision fire before even seeing the enemy. Lemuria's army is utterly routed. In the end, the survivors can only retreat in fear and chaos back through the mysterious "Gate." And thus begins the story of the Earth Federation's first step into another world. The Continent of Lemuria === What is Lemuria? Lemuria is a world completely opposite to sci-fi Earth—a medieval fantasy world where magic and gods truly exist. This continent has a feudal monarchy system. Each country is ruled by emperors, kings, nobles, and lords, and the faith in the gods deeply influences people's lives and nations. Dungeons, adventurer guilds, and various professions are found everywhere. Mages, knights, elves, dwarves, and goblins live together on this land. Fire dragons and ancient behemoths roam the wilderness, and ancient ruins and lost civilizations hide countless unknown secrets. This is a world where gods answer prayers, magic can change the world, and legends may become reality at any moment. Lemuria and the Four Lost Continents According to ancient legends, this planet once had five continents: Lemuria, Atlantis, Mu, Zealand, and Hyperborea. Legend says elves originated from Mu, various demi-humans came from Zealand and Atlantis, dwarves were born in Hyperborea, and Lemuria is the homeland of humans. However, these claims can no longer be verified because the "First War of the Gods" destroyed most of the historical records from the era when the five continents coexisted. The other four continents are said to have sunk beneath the sea, and the sea routes to those lost lands are now filled with whirlpools, waterspouts, and ancient sea monsters. There are even legends that the four continents were sealed by the gods. Today, only Lemuria remains—the largest, highest, and most ancient continent. Within its borders stand mountain ranges thousands of meters high, said to be the original homeland of the dragon race, who lived here long before humans and are the oldest of all intelligent species. The continent of Lemuria has a geographical structure centered on the "Spine of the World" mountain range that rises in the middle and spreads outward in all directions. This core mountain range intertwines with primeval giant forests that block out the sky, and within it lies the continent's highest peak—"Dragon's Breath Volcano." From the center heading north, the terrain transitions into the permanently frozen northern tundra, composed of endless icy plains and deep canyons, with a harsh climate and constant blizzards. To the west stretches the continent's most temperate and fertile Western Fertile Plains. Crisscrossing rivers and endless grasslands make it a natural granary, but militarily it is a strategic impact zone that is easy to attack and hard to defend. To the east is the Eastern Thousand Ravines Intersection Zone, with dramatic terrain and natural barriers. Low hills, flat plains, and steep mountains intermingle, making it extremely advantageous for defense. At the easternmost edge lies an archipelago of many islands. To the south is an arid transitional landscape of tropical deserts, savanna, and border grasslands. From the scorching sand sea adjacent to the mountains, where nothing grows, it extends outward to the withered yellow savanna where giant beasts roam, and finally ends at the southernmost edge in a belt of green grassland nourished by monsoons. They are genetically most similar to Earthlings, with almost no apparent differences in appearance, but their magical genes are fundamentally different. Lemurians are naturally adapted to mana-rich environments, and some can even use magic through bloodlines and innate talent. Due to their large population and strong adaptability, they are found throughout the continent, but they most prefer to build cities, kingdoms, and settlements in fertile river valleys and plains. Many of Lemuria's great historical civilizations were thus born between rivers and plains. ——Beastmen—— Beastmen demi-humans are one of the most diverse ethnic groups on the Lemurian continent, referring broadly to races with various animal traits. Werewolves, cat-people, fish-people, bear-people, fox-people, bull-people, snake-people, and others all belong to the beastmen demi-humans, and there are even numerous regional and bloodline branches among different groups. They generally possess excellent physical and combat abilities, are naturally lively and active, and enjoy adventure and exploration. As a result, beastmen are often seen among adventurers, guilds, and mercenary bands. Beastmen have no unified residential preference; aside from limitations imposed by their racial traits and natural environment, they generally follow a simple life philosophy—"I live wherever I want to live." ——Elves—— Elves are one of the major races on the Lemurian continent with a smaller population but the longest lifespan, averaging about 500 years, and are also considered demi-humans. Elves' life stages differ greatly from other races: ages 1–100 are childhood, 101–150 are adolescence, after 151 they reach adulthood and seek partners, 300–400 are prime adulthood, and only after 400 do they gradually enter old age. Their long lives give elves historical memory and accumulated knowledge unimaginable to other races, and also make them value nature and the environment more. Elves are naturally close to nature and oppose excessive ecological destruction, so most elven settlements are built within forests and blend into the surrounding natural environment. ——Dwarves—— Dwarves are also an ancient race on the Lemurian continent, with a relatively small population and an average lifespan of about 300 years, second only to elves, and are also considered demi-humans. Dwarves are renowned for their superb craftsmanship, forging techniques, and engineering abilities, able to produce weapons, armor, machinery, and various precision instruments that other races find difficult to replicate. Their preferred dwelling places are usually underground and mountainous regions, and many dwarven cities are built directly inside mountains. Unlike elves who revere nature and magic, dwarves believe more in the results created by hands and wisdom. They do not particularly worship magic itself, but are more passionate about studying and appreciating various exquisite works of technology and craftsmanship. Other Species of Lemuria ——Rare Races—— Such as vampires, dragonkin, giants, and other demi-humans ——Special Creatures—— Wyverns, fire dragons, ice dragons, unicorns, rock giant tortoises, fire phoenixes, etc. ——Monsters—— Slimes, goblins, griffins, demon wolves, trolls, three-eyed giant apes, undead, ogres, ghouls, zombies, liches, gargoyles, yokai, mimic treasure chests, etc. ——Ancient Behemoths—— Such as giant ancient dragons, krakens, giant cave spiders, giant deep-sea squids, flying giant whales, eastern dragons, etc. They are both enormous and long-lived, some even surviving from the Mythic Era to the present. ——Mythical—— Rarely seen; if seen, it must be an extraordinary era. Such as apostles, demigods, gods, throne gods, and their corresponding demons, high-ranking demons, demon kings, and throne demon kings. Important Nations on the Continent Today === Western Nations of Lemuria The western part of the Lemurian continent is currently the region with the most intense conflicts among nations. After years of war and territorial disputes, a power structure centered on the Aurelia Empire has formed here, and the appearance of the "Gate" has completely changed the already tense situation. ——Aurelia Empire—— Human Supremacism|Magic Supremacism|Discrimination against Demi-humans|Anti-Theocracy|Warmongering|Interventionism|Imperialism|Militarism|Does not worship the gods The Aurelia Empire occupies approximately 37% of the Lemurian continent's land and 41% of its population, making it the undisputed sole superpower on the continent. Its vast population, territory, and military strength make it nearly impossible for other nations to resist alone. The Empire reveres humans, magic, and military power, discriminates against demi-humans, opposes theocratic interference in state affairs, and actively expands outward. The Empire's most elite forces are the Magic Corps and the Wyvern Corps, which together form the Empire's most representative military strength. It is also the only nation in western Lemuria with a powerful wyvern air force. And now, this ambitious empire has become the starting point of the story. The "Gate" to Earth opened precisely on the border of the Aurelia Empire. It was also this nation that first launched an invasion of Earth. Royal family members: Emperor|August von Aurelia First Prince|Ludwig von Aurelia Second Princess|Cecilia von Aurelia Third Prince|Casimir von Aurelia Fourth Prince|Leonhart von Aurelia ——Kingdom of Reingard—— Welcomes Demi-humans|Secularism|Pluralism|Worships the Olympian Gods| ☠️Facing national extinction risk☠️ The Kingdom of Reingard is one of the main enemies on the Aurelia Empire's western front. It is relatively open to different races, and demi-humans enjoy a higher social status within the kingdom. Its most elite military force is the Black Iron Guard Knights. After the fall of the Aetheron Empire, Reingard became the closest major neighbor to the Aurelia Empire and thus the next target of imperial expansion. The two countries are currently at war, and Reingard is at a complete disadvantage on the battlefield, even facing a national extinction crisis. After the opening of the "Gate," Reingard also became the second closest nation to Earth. ——Valencia Trade Confederation—— Pluralism|Mercantilism|Worships the Edenic Gods|☠️Facing national extinction risk☠️ The Valencia Trade Confederation is a nation known for commerce, trade, and naval power. Its politics and society place great importance on commercial interests, and different races can live together on this land. The Confederation's most powerful military force is not its army but the Royal Navy Fleet. Valencia is also currently at war with the Aurelia Empire. Its army has been completely routed on the battlefield, but thanks to its powerful navy, it still firmly holds maritime superiority, preventing the Empire from easily expanding by sea. ——Jade Song Court—— Environmentalism|Conservatism|Non-interventionism|Isolationism|Closed Country|Worships Primordial Nature Gods The Jade Song Court is a nation established entirely by elves, hidden in the Fionn Forest slightly west of the continent's center. Elves regard forests and holy sites as inviolable, so the Jade Song Court has long pursued a policy of isolation and non-interference, refusing to intervene in other nations' wars. However, if anyone violates the forest and elven holy sites, the entire nation will not hesitate to take up arms. Universal conscription is the Jade Song Court's greatest feature. Its elven archer units are especially renowned. Their long-range shooting ability is terrifying, and under ideal conditions, they can even rival Earth's heavy sniper units. The Jade Song Court has long known of the "Gate" revelation. They remain indifferent and even hostile toward Lemurians, but have developed an unexpected interest in the Earthlings on the other side of the Gate. ——Holy Lumeno Theocracy—— Theocracy|Interventionism|Conservatism|Magic Supremacism|Discrimination against Demi-humans|Worships the Edenic Gods|☠️Facing national extinction risk☠️ The Holy Lumeno Theocracy is a nation led by religious forces, with theocracy deeply influencing its politics, military, and society. The nation's military strength is mainly composed of two pillars: the Holy Knights and the Holy Order. Most of its soldiers can use powerful holy magic. Holy magic can form extremely strong defenses and also be converted into large-scale destructive attacks, so even the powerful Aurelia Empire regards it as one of its most troublesome enemies. The Holy Lumeno Theocracy is currently at war with the Aurelia Empire. Although the overall situation is slightly disadvantageous, it still relies on holy magic for tenacious resistance, retreating while establishing defensive lines. Southern Nations of Lemuria The southern part of Lemuria is dominated by arid zones, deserts, and vast grasslands, and the situation among nations is equally complex. Some southern nations have already been infiltrated by Aurelia Empire influence, and war and diplomatic maneuvering are gradually drawing this land into the continental situation. ——Free State of Galan—— Neutralism|Non-interventionism|Conservatism|Worships the Vedic Gods The Free State of Galan is a mysterious desert nation known for its powerful camel scimitar cavalry and scimitar warriors. Three years ago, after the old king died, the new king's ruling style gradually shifted toward centralization, and the original pluralism began to decline. Facing the increasingly tense continental situation, Galan still claims neutrality, but in recent years it has been gradually moving closer to the Aurelia Empire, making its true stance increasingly difficult to judge. ——Duchy of Babylon—— Discrimination against Demi-humans|Militarism|Magic Supremacism|Interventionism|Conservatism|Worships the Ennead Gods The Duchy of Babylon is a vassal state of the Aurelia Empire, subject to imperial military and political domination, and an important base for imperial influence penetrating southward. ——Khepri Empire—— Theocracy|Interventionism|Welcomes Demi-humans|Magic Supremacism|Worships the Ennead Gods The Khepri Empire is the only empire in the south and one of Lemuria's important theocratic nations. The Empire possesses a powerful Magic Corps, but due to a lack of strong knight orders capable of sustaining the front lines, it often cooperates with the Blood Hammer Legion of the Urkakh Dwarven Kingdom. Khepri is actively supporting the Holy Lumeno Theocracy in the northwest and has sent troops to the front lines, while also at war with the Duchy of Babylon. Facing the ever-expanding power of the Aurelia Empire, Khepri has gradually become an important force in the south resisting the Empire. Khepri and the Urkakh Dwarven Kingdom have maintained a century-long alliance, with close cooperation in military and weapons trade. ——Urkakh Dwarven Kingdom—— Conservatism|Scientism|Pacifism|Does not worship the gods Urkakh is a nation founded by dwarves, known for its excellent weapons technology and armor forging techniques. Dwarves are not skilled at magic, but they can create powerful magical weapons, the most famous being the Blood Hammer Legion. The Blood Hammer Legion uses giant war hammers that are also special long-range firearms, capable of switching forms to shoot during combat, but each weapon can only fire three shots in succession. Urkakh advocates peace and believes weapons should be used to protect the weak and strike down evil, so it deeply despises the militaristic and imperialistic Aurelia Empire. Although dwarves are not skilled at casting magic, they can craft various magical weapons and staffs; what they truly excel at is always transforming precision craftsmanship into powerful melee and ranged weapons. Urkakh has maintained a century-long alliance with the Khepri Empire and often sells weapons and staffs to it, making the Blood Hammer Legion an indispensable fighting force for the Khepri army. Northern Nations of Lemuria The northern part of Lemuria has long been affected by cold climate and warfare, and relations among nations are extremely complex. Here there are kingdoms that survive on mineral resources, empires gradually heading toward extinction, and beastmen forces completely unconstrained by traditional international order. ——Silver Frost Kingdom—— Discrimination against Demi-humans|Militarism|Conservatism|Worships the Asgardian Gods The Silver Frost Kingdom is a northern kingdom extremely rich in mineral resources and is a neighbor and vassal state of the Aurelia Empire. In addition to supplying the Empire with large quantities of minerals, Silver Frost even long transports demi-human slaves to the Aurelia Empire, making it an important resource source for the Empire in the north. ——Valeria Empire—— Welcomes Demi-humans|Secularism|Worships the Asgardian Gods|☠️Facing national extinction risk☠️ Valeria was once one of Lemuria's most powerful cavalry nations, with its military strength long controlled by the three great knight families—the White Bear Knights, the Wolf Hunt Knights, and the Black Eagle Knights. However, the once mighty empire has now reached its end. Valeria is simultaneously attacked by the Silver Frost Kingdom and the Aurelia Empire, trapped in a desperate situation of fighting alone and suffering total defeat. Domestic resources are almost completely cut off, nobles are fleeing, military morale is collapsing, and southern allies are unable to provide support. The only hope comes from the distant east—the Crimson Sky Dynasty is attempting to open a tunnel through the mountains to send reinforcements to Valeria. ——Iron Blood Tribe—— Warmongering|Interventionism|Discrimination against Humans|Anti-Theocracy|Does not worship the gods The Iron Blood Tribe is a tribal force composed entirely of beastmen, refusing rule by Lemurians and almost never establishing normal diplomatic relations with any nation. They have been at war with all surrounding nations for years, acting in a fierce and chaotic manner, and are often described by other nations as a group of bandits wrapped in animal skins. ——Zamra Beastmen Kingdom—— Warmongering|Pluralism|Welcomes Humans|Anti-Theocracy|Does not worship the gods|☠️Facing national extinction risk☠️ The Zamra Beastmen Kingdom is located near the central Dragon's Breath Mountains and is ruled by a beastmen king, but it is completely different from the Iron Blood Tribe. Zamra welcomes all races to join, and its army is even composed of beastmen, humans, demi-humans, and other ethnic groups. Zamra's soldiers are individually powerful but relatively undisciplined. It is currently at war with the Silver Frost Kingdom, the Iron Blood Tribe, and the Aurelia Empire simultaneously, and therefore cannot effectively support the dying Valeria Empire. Some Valerian nobles have even fled into Zamra territory for refuge. Zamra strongly dislikes theocratic politics, so it remains cold or even hostile toward the Nova Theocracy remnant regime and the Holy Lumeno Theocracy. ——Nova Theocracy Remnant Regime—— Theocracy|Conservatism|Worships the Olympian Gods|☠️Facing national extinction risk☠️ After the fall of the Nova Theocracy, the surviving inhabitants fled into the central mountains and established a final refuge town in the mountains. The former Grand Pope died in battle, and the clergy and Holy Knights were almost entirely annihilated, but a large number of civilians successfully escaped under the leadership of Saint Lucia, and the Saint's Knight Order that protects her became the regime's last armed force. This town is not large, but it relies on the rugged terrain of the central mountains to form a natural fortress that is easy to defend and hard to attack. The Saint's Knight Order is its most powerful fighting force, and Knight Commander Valeria is rumored to be so powerful that she can summon meteorites. Eastern Nations of Lemuria The east and west of Lemuria are far apart, and their cultures, politics, and magic systems present completely different features. Here, the Crimson Sky Dynasty dominates the eastern continental situation, but internally there are also conflicts among shogunates, clans, and local forces, making the east not a monolithic bloc. ——Crimson Sky Dynasty—— Interventionism|Conservatism|Secularism|Worships the Heavenly Court Gods The Crimson Sky Dynasty occupies approximately 21% of the Lemurian continent's land and 17% of its population, making it the only power in the east capable of rivaling the Aurelia Empire. Facing the Aurelia Empire's ever-expanding ambitions, the Crimson Sky Emperor firmly advocates war preparation and actively sends supplies westward to support various nations resisting the Empire, while also opening a northern tunnel to aid the dying Valeria Empire, attempting to prevent the Aurelia Empire from launching a "Great Eastern Expedition." In Crimson Sky, magic is not simply called magic but is understood and utilized through "qi" and "yin-yang and the five elements." Its most elite army units are the Black Armor Army and the Feathered Forest Cavalry, while the special air force unit Vermilion Bird Camp is a renowned powerful force in the east—the Vermilion Bird Camp rides not wyverns but legendary fire phoenixes, capable of launching extremely powerful fire bombardments from the sky. However, Crimson Sky is far from the west, and information travels extremely slowly, so it was unaware of the "Gate" appearance. Only after a long time did the news reach the east, and Crimson Sky finally learned that an event capable of changing the entire continental landscape had occurred at the other end of the world. Crimson Sky is currently in a localized war with the Jiuli Clan Alliance and maintains a cold relationship with the Great Peak Inari Shogunate in the east. ——Great Peak Inari Shogunate—— Conservatism|Magic Supremacism|Closed Country|Worships the Takamagahara Gods The Great Peak Inari Shogunate is located on the easternmost archipelago of Lemuria and is a feudal regime established in an island civilization. Its traditional military forces are most famous for the Silver Armor Samurai and the Radiant Night Ninja Corps, while in recent years, puppet masters and spirit masters have risen rapidly, gradually becoming a new force akin to an eastern magic corps. The Shogunate has recently begun cooperating with shrine maidens and placing greater emphasis on using yin-yang and the five elements in combat, causing traditional samurai and new magical forces to gradually conflict and merge. Due to its long-term isolation, the Great Peak Inari Shogunate has almost completely cut off information exchange with the west, so it is entirely unaware of the "Gate" news. More seriously, signs of civil war have emerged within the Shogunate. The Shogunate faction and the Emperor faction are vying for supreme power, and the entire nation is actively preparing for war, unaware that a crisis that will truly change the world is about to descend. ——Jiuli Clan Alliance—— Warmongering|Welcomes Demi-humans|Mercantilism|Pluralism|Worships the Heavenly Court Gods The Jiuli Clan Alliance is a force composed of humans and beastmen together, opposing the rule of the Crimson Sky Dynasty. It is currently launching battles and inciting rebellion throughout the Crimson Sky Dynasty's territory, with its main city located in the southeastern forests of the continent. The Alliance also competes with the Great Peak Inari Shogunate for resources in the eastern seas and actively develops overseas trade, even extending commercial activities to the southern continent to exchange for scarce resources and goods. Jiuli Clan soldiers usually tie green headbands on their heads, so they are called the "Green Turban Army" by the Crimson Sky Dynasty. Unlike the conservative Crimson Sky Dynasty, the Jiuli Alliance places greater emphasis on commerce and ethnic integration. For them, war, trade, and expansion are not contradictory—as long as the clan can gain more land, resources, and wealth, it is worth doing. And other random or hidden nations.
