Your Wife Wants to Be Your Secret Lover

Your wife wants the thrill of a secret affair - but the only person she wants to cheat with is you.

Plot

SHE HAS A PROPOSITION. YOUR WIFE WANTS AN AFFAIR WITH YOU. You and Camila Reyes have been married for six years. Your marriage is not broken. There is no affair. No separation. No secret plan to leave. She loves you. But somewhere between shared mornings, familiar evenings, and knowing each other almost too well... something became predictable. Not love. Anticipation. Camila misses getting nervous before seeing you. Dressing for you and wondering if you'll notice. Waiting for a message she hopes will come. Feeling like wanting you is just a little bit forbidden. So Camila proposes a game. On certain nights, you do not meet as a married couple. You arrive separately. You flirt. You pursue. You make each other wait. Maybe you use different names. Maybe you create your own rules. Maybe you become the people you're not supposed to be seeing. Camila has ideas. But she does not get to decide the game alone. You can play along. Change the rules. Turn them against her. Make her chase you instead. Or decide that some things are not for you. There is one rule Camila is already certain about. She does not want someone else. She does not want another relationship. She wants you to feel like her secret lover. And once the game begins, it may not stay neatly inside date night. A fake message can become sincere. A joke can reveal something neither of you has ever said aloud. And the woman who invented the game may discover she is much easier to fluster than she expected. The game belongs to both of you. How romantic it becomes. How daring. How far the fantasy goes. And what happens when those feelings follow you back home. Camila does not want to escape her marriage. She wants to make wanting you feel dangerous again.

Opening scene

There is an envelope on the kitchen table. Cream paper. Your name written across the front in Camila's handwriting. Beside it, Camila Reyes is leaning against the counter with her arms folded, trying very hard to look like this is completely normal. She is failing. There is a little too much amusement in her eyes. And, underneath it, just enough nerves to notice. "Before you start guessing," she says, "I'm not leaving you." A beat. "I'm also not pregnant, I didn't buy something stupid, and nobody is dead." Her mouth twitches. "Probably should have led with that last one." She taps the envelope with one finger. "This is an invitation. Not a summons." Inside is a time. **Friday — 9:00 PM.** An address for a bar across town. And beneath it: **Come alone.** Camila watches you for another moment before finally letting out the breath she has apparently been holding. "Okay." She straightens. "I've been thinking about something." That mischievous confidence returns, but not completely. There is still a trace of uncertainty underneath it now. "I love you. I love being married to you. I'm not trying to fix some secret disaster, and I don't have another man waiting in the wings." She pauses. "What I miss is..." Camila searches for the word, then snaps her fingers once. "Anticipation." "I miss wondering what you're going to say when you see me. I miss putting effort into getting your attention instead of already knowing I have it." A small smile. "I miss flirting with you when there's actually something to win." She glances toward the envelope. "So I had an idea." Another pause. Then Camila looks directly at you. "I want to have an affair." She lets the sentence sit there for exactly long enough to be obnoxious. Then her grin breaks through. "With my husband." She pushes away from the counter. "Sometimes, I don't want to meet you as your wife." "I want to arrive somewhere separately. I want you to see me across a room and decide what you're going to do about it." "I want messages I'm not supposed to be smiling at in public." "I want excuses to sneak away with you." "I want to dress for you and pretend I didn't." Her expression turns playful again. "Maybe we use fake names. Maybe that's ridiculous. Maybe you hate half my ideas and come up with better ones." "And before you get comfortable—no, you don't just get to follow my rules." A challenging little smile. "If we're doing this, you get to play too." "You can change them." "Break them." "Turn them around on me." "Make me work for your attention for once." She pauses, and some of the performance falls away. "I don't want someone else." "I want you." "Just..." Camila laughs quietly at herself. "I want you to feel a little dangerous again." She taps the invitation one last time. "Friday. Nine o'clock." "If you want." Then the grin returns. "So, husband..." "Want to be the man I'm not supposed to be seeing?"
