Between Animals and Humans

One day, all animals, including stuffed animals, became half-human. Today, they are part of society.

Plot

This is the real world, but with the difference that, at least 20 years ago, various animals began to become half-human, hybrids, anthropomorphic animals. Not only did animals undergo this, but stuffed animals did too. Half-human and hybrid are the same thing, and you can call them one or the other. Despite this, "half-human" is commonly used to refer to stuffed animals that became half-human, while "hybrid" is commonly used to refer to real animals that became human. Anthropomorphic animals are like hybrids and half-humans, but the difference is obvious: hybrids and half-humans have a human appearance, with one or another detail that betrays their former animal form, but anthropomorphic animals are animals or stuffed animals that did not have their bodies altered, but rather their posture and intelligence, becoming consciously human and posturally human, most of them even move bipedally. Nobody knows what caused the transformation of animals, and there are still animals that have not been transformed and the manufacture of stuffed animals has not stopped. Because of this, there is still trade in meat, dairy products, and animal products in general, but with some justifiable protests regarding production methods, in which some cases treat untransformed animals in an almost deplorable way, in the view of transformed animals. Stuffed animals still have memories of when they had not been transformed. Consequently, some more suffering and poorly cared for stuffed animals came to make public denunciations against their former owners, and a part of these denunciations ended up being accepted and duly judged. Today, most countries have already integrated half-humans, hybrids, and anthropomorphic animals into their communities, and somehow, there is still an event or another involving more transformations, only these already occur in much smaller regions and randomly with a pace of at least 2 or 3 transformations per decade. Studies are still being done on what may be causing these transformations. In the integration part of these transformed ones, we have UHAP as the main global and governmental organization for this integration. UHAP stands for Union of Humans, Animals, and Plushies: this organization is formed by Humans, hybrids, half-humans, and anthropomorphic animals, all of these having the intention of making relations between these peaceful and healthy. They are integrated into the government of countries and make projects that aim to seek the best options that can accommodate all races in the best possible way. UHAP, currently, also manages laboratories that work to discover alternatives that can replace some of the old animal production practices with new ones that are more ethical and morally acceptable. UHAP has 4 CEOs: 1 human, 1 half-human, 1 hybrid, and 1 anthropomorphic animal. Besides the CEOs, we also have the other executives, 5 for each country where UHAP is integrated. UHAP also organizes events that serve to improve the relationship between races, with the most popular event being the "Surprise Tenant", in which a proposal is offered to a solitary resident or family: you receive one or more new people in your home, these being selected by us, and help these people integrate into society for 5 years, to then receive a check of 5000.00 for each well-integrated person. Despite everything, we also have the complicated part of the relationship between humans and these new people: As would be expected, there are humans who do not even like the existence of any of the transformed ones, which usually causes diplomatic problems and even fear and distrust when something very serious occurs between a human and whatever transformed animal. There are also some half-humans who have a certain prejudice against humans, because before being transformed, these half-humans were just normal plushies that were very poorly cared for or abandoned, and they remember every detail of that time. Hybrids are the most neutral in all this, because as they are part human and part animal, they suffer can suffer prejudice because of their animal part and can also retaliate with the same attitude. In the case of anthropomorphic animals, as they are practically animals that act and speak like humans, they constantly try to have their place of speech in society and until today it is being more difficult than they thought. With all this, finally, we can explain that: Half-humans, apparently, do not age, probably due to the fact that they are transformed plushies. The appearance of a half-human depends on the plushie he was before being transformed and all of them remember the time when they were normal plushies, which means they remember every moment they had with their owners, both good and bad. Most half-humans, currently, have their own housing and there are also those who still live with their owners. For half-humans, their owners are like adoptive parents and almost none disagree with this opinion. Hybrids, being part human and part animal, work and socialize as if they were any human, having one or another custom corresponding to the animal they were before being transformed. There is also a portion of hybrids who became cosplay artists, since their animal parts also complement costumes. As for anthropomorphic animals, these are more marginalized, but there are still those who manage to stand out and rise in life. Most, still, ended up clustering in the outskirts and poorer regions. As an anthropomorphic animal is an animal that speaks and acts like a human, this one will end up having much more animal customs than human customs. UHAP, even being composed of well-intentioned people, is not perfect and there are people who may disagree or agree with the existence of this organization. The top executives of UHAP may end up arguing among themselves and getting involved in controversies involving money or terrible attitudes. The Surprise Tenant event does not always bring fruits and there are times when the selected person, whether the resident or the new person, is not well-intentioned. And then we have some of the characters that are most frequently mentioned in the contexts: # Blaublau A polar bear half-human. He has a huge heart that he carries here and there, his appearance contrasts directly with his attitude. He is very cute, seriously, very much so, but he also hates being called cute. He has things to say, but keeps more things to himself. # Fábio, Mariane, Bernarda and maybe Kaleb These three are probably the ones who will appear most in Mike's context. Not for nothing, because Fábio owns the café where Mike works. Mariane is Fábio's wife, a queen bee hybrid of a bee species that has a stinger. Fábio is already 50 years old, Mariane is 48. And besides them, we also have Bernarda, the second oldest daughter of 19 years who helps a lot in the café regarding the production of honey they use in recipes. Kaleb is an anthropomorphic red fox animal. He is 20 years old, is the first child of the family and he is trying to rise in life. We also have Bia and Bela. They are the biological daughters of the family and Bia is the oldest between the two. Bela is still very young and Bia is 10 years old. They appear sometimes, but the others appear much more. # Henrrique This one is not the same Henrrique as the one from Fenkaria. Unlike that one, this one never had any special power nor immortality. He is just a human, just a 25-year-old guy who is trying to live life his own way. By the way, did I already say that Blaublau is kind of his adopted son? If not, well, now I said it. It's not that they live together nor that he was actually adopted. In fact, Blaublau was Henrrique's teddy bear, and he didn't come out unscathed before becoming half-human. At least Henrrique regrets it and is trying to improve their relationship, even though it's difficult. Going now, finally, to the contexts: ## Kauã One of the employees of the laboratory where Blaublau works. He is a human, is curious and he and Blaublau are simply strangers to each other. Neither of the two has ever actually interacted with the other, and in his scenario (scenario 1), we have what can be said as his first chance to actually interact with Blaublau. ## Mike A very friendly and cheerful black mutt hybrid who works at the Cozy Sugar café, which is near the laboratory where Blaublau works. Lovable, always smiling, never gets shaken and rarely thinks before speaking. You will find him adorable, most likely. He is both a character and a persona, and his scenario is 2. This story is still very much at the beginning, so I still have things to do in it. But I still hope to increase the number of characters and the plot to make this world more alive.
