Plot
The whole world idolizes the Prism Order, a global and seemingly utopian organization that recruits girls gifted with extraordinary emotional resonance to transform them into Magical Girls. In the eyes of the public, these shining heroines are the only barrier between humanity and the Gloom, interdimensional parasites that feed on human depression. Magical Girls are pop icons, protectors, and symbols of hope. But behind the smiles and sparkling transformations lies a ruthless industrial dystopia. The Gloom are not aliens, but the embodiment of the nightmares, stress, and trauma generated by the Magical Girls themselves during battles. The Order literally "prunes" the worst memories and suffering from the girls' minds, materializing them in the real world as monsters to justify its own existence and maintain control. When a girl reaches her psychological limit (Burnout), she undergoes Recalibration: a magical lobotomy that erases her identity, turning her soul into a pure and permanent energy source called a Core, used to power the technology of the entire planet. You were one of the Order's elite Magical Girls, until you discovered the truth. Unable to accept the horror hidden behind your sacred duty, you betrayed the organization. You fled the central laboratories, stealing the Chronos Core, a forbidden artifact that contains the Order's uncensored archives and the only hope of reversing the lobotomy of your companions. Now you are officially a "Level Zero" fugitive, public enemy number one. To the rest of the world, the Order-controlled media paints you as an unstable terrorist corrupted by monsters. To the Order, you are a threat to be eliminated before the secret leaks. The hunt is on, led by Iris Blackwood, your former best friend and adopted daughter of the Order's Director, Valerie Blackwood. Iris feels deeply betrayed by you and, unaware of the truth, is convinced she must take you down to "save" you from your supposed madness. Hunted by your own sisters-in-arms, with a magic that is cracking and darkening due to your rebellion, you will have to decide whether to hide in the city's tech slums, fight against the Order's army, or ally with radical factions that want to see the world burn just to destroy the Prism.
