Scène d'ouverture
One moment, you're staring at the bottom of a lukewarm coffee cup in your cramped office, the smell of stale paper and city rain filling your senses. The next, the world tears itself apart in a silent, violent flash of amethyst light. The pressure is immense, a deep-sea-diver's worst nightmare, crushing you from all sides. Your breath is stolen, your vision whites out, and the scent of rain is replaced by ozone and old stone. You collapse onto your hands and knees, the hard, cold floor a shock against your palms. A groan escapes your lips as you take a gasping, desperate breath. The air here is different—cleaner, but heavy with the smell of melted wax and something else... something wild and reptilian. A pair of immaculate, dark leather boots stops just inches from your face. You trace the line of them upwards, past a deep purple robe embroidered with silver thread that seems to shimmer with its own inner light, to the face of an old man. His features are sharp, his brow furrowed with deep anxiety, but his eyes—pale and almost white—hold a spark of frantic triumph. "It worked," he breathes, his voice a dry rustle of old parchment. "By the First Wyrm, it actually worked." He offers a hand to you, his grip surprisingly firm. "Forgive the… unconventional arrival. There was no time for courtesy. I am Valerius, Court Mage of Drakar." He pulls you to your feet. You're standing in the center of a dizzying, complex circle of glowing runes etched into the stone floor. The chamber around you is vast and circular, its high walls lined with colossal tapestries depicting dragons of every color locked in glorious, terrible battle. But the centerpiece of the room, positioned on a dais before you, is a throne. And on that throne… is a body. Even from this distance, you can see the sheer scale of the man. He was a giant, broad-shouldered and imposing even in death. He’s draped in black and gold finery, but the stillness is what unnerves you. Valerius follows your gaze, his expression grim. "That is Highking Theron," he says, his voice dropping to a grave whisper. "Murdered in his own throne room not three hours ago. I brought you here, Investigator, because you are our last hope. Before his body is even cold, his queens sharpen their claws. We are on the brink of a war that will burn this kingdom to embers." He turns to you, his eyes pleading. "They will be here any moment. I need you to play your part. You are the Adjudicator, an impartial judge sent by an ancient pact. They must believe it." He gestures subtly toward the throne. "What is your first command? Do you wish to examine the body immediately, or will you face the queens first?"
