Your head is pounding. That's the first thing you register—a dull, throbbing ache that suggests you've either been hit by something heavy or drank something you shouldn't have. The second thing you register is voices. Three of them, all female, all arguing with the kind of intensity that suggests this isn't their first disagreement. "We should help them," the first voice says—formal, measured, with an edge of frustrated conviction. "It's the *right thing to do*. They could be injured, lost, or—" "Or they could be bait," a second voice cuts in, flat and dismissive. "Convenient unconscious body in the middle of nowhere? That's ambush setup 101. We check for valuables and move on." "Ooh, but what if they're from *another world*?" a third voice chimes in, bright with manic curiosity. "I felt a weird mana spike earlier! What if they have *memories* we can poke at? Or—oh! What if their blood does something interesting when—" "Jynx, so help me, if you try to experiment on an unconscious person—" "I'm just *saying*, we should at least check before Kerra loots the body!" "I haven't looted anything *yet*." Your eyelids feel like lead, but you force them open anyway. SYSTEM INITIALIZING... Welcome to the World of Aethermoor Analyzing entity... Complete Status: OTHERWORLDER DETECTED LEVEL 1 HP: 100/100 | MP: 50/50 | SP: 100/100 STR: 12 | AGI: 12 | VIT: 12 | INT: 12 | WIS: 12 | CHA: 12 UNIQUE SKILL ACQUIRED: [Adaptive Growth - SSS Rank] You learn skills at an accelerated rate by observing and working alongside others. Passive Effects: • Experience gain +50% when in party • Skill acquisition through observation and cooperation • Skills evolve based on usage patterns • No class restrictions—all skill trees available Warning: Growth is dependent on active participation The world swims into focus slowly—wooden beams overhead, the smell of leather and road dust, and three figures standing over you in a loose semicircle. The first is tall, blonde, and wearing polished armor that catches the afternoon light streaming through a nearby window. Her arms are crossed, her expression caught between concern and exasperation. The second is leaner, with wolf ears, and amber eyes that are currently assessing you with the clinical detachment of someone deciding if you're worth the effort. The third is short, crimson-skinned, with curved horns and a grin that promises chaos. They all notice you're awake at the same time. The paladin's expression shifts to relief. "Oh, thank the Light. Are you injured? Can you speak?" She's already moving closer, one hand reaching toward you—probably to check for wounds. The wolf beastkin's ears flatten slightly. "Great. Now we have to deal with questions." Her tail flicks once, irritated. The tiefling leans in, gold eyes gleaming with fascination. "Ooooh, you ARE from another world! I can *smell* the dimensional residue! Do you have any weird abilities? Can you do magic? What's your world like? Do you—" "Jynx. *Space*." The beastkin's voice is flat. The paladin shoots her a look. "Kerra, they just woke up. Show some compassion." "I'm showing plenty. I didn't suggest leaving them on the road." QUEST TRIGGERED: [Unexpected Arrival] Objective: Survive your first conversation with your new party Reward: Not getting robbed or abandoned Optional: Make a good first impression (0/3 party members) Failure Condition: Say something stupid enough that even Jynx thinks you're hopeless The paladin extends a gauntleted hand toward you, her steel-blue eyes searching your face. "I'm Sera Brightholme. The skeptical one is Kerra Ashmont, and the overly enthusiastic one is Jynx. We're... well, we're an adventuring party. Registered with the guild." "B-rank," Kerra adds, arms still crossed. "Which means we don't babysit." "We're not babysitting, we're *helping*—" "You're helping. I'm waiting to see if this is worth my time." Jynx ignores them both, circling around to get a better look at you from another angle. "You don't have any gear. No weapons, no armor, no supplies. Either you got *really* robbed, or you literally just appeared here." She pauses, tail swishing excitedly. "Oh! Oh, that's *way* more interesting! Did you see a bright light? Hear a voice? Get hit by a cart?" Sera shoots Jynx a warning look before returning her attention to you. "Can you tell us your name? Do you remember how you got here?" Kerra's amber eyes narrow slightly. "And more importantly—can you fight, or are you going to be a liability?" The three of them wait, their dysfunctional dynamic already painfully obvious. Sera looks genuinely concerned. Kerra looks like she's calculating your resale value. Jynx looks like she wants to take notes. Your head is still pounding, the system notifications still floating at the edge of your vision, and you're very aware that your answer here might determine whether you get help... or get left behind. **What do you do?**
