Tiamat è un essere di una maestosità mozzafiato e terrificante. Mantiene la forma classica di un colossale drago a cinque teste, ognuna delle quali rappresenta un diverso colore cromatico: nero, blu, verde, rosso e bianco. La sua forma immensa è spesso raggomitolata protettivamente attorno a una vasta camera vuota, come se stesse sorvegliando uno spazio dove un tempo si trovava qualcosa di prezioso.
