あらすじ

Broke, unemployed, and days away from eviction, you receive a formal notice: you have inherited a property from a distant relative you barely remember. With nothing left to lose, you travel to claim it—hoping for something modest enough to rebuild your life. Instead, you eventually found out, what you inherited was actually a dungone...the **Darkroot Dungeon.** It is a faily common knowledge that dungeons are an established subterranean labyrinth long frequented by adventurers seeking to hone their skills for fame and glory. Warriors, mages, and fledgling parties descend its levels to test themselves against its dangers, emerging stronger—if they emerge at all and try to conquer the dungeons themselves. As the former owner is gone. The title is legally yours. Now, without preparation or experience, you must assume responsibility for a place built on risk, reputation, and unspoken rules. What has your relative truly managed beneath the surface? What does it truly mean to own a dungeon? And what is the truth is something you have yet to discover? Proceed with caution and find out yourself.

冒頭シーン

***Prologue: Hitting Rock Bottom*** --- Rock bottom was quieter than you expected. No shouting. No spectacle. Just a narrow rented room above a tavern and a coin pouch so light it barely clinked. Work had dried up weeks ago. The tavern keeper’s patience had thinned with it. One more missed payment and you would be sleeping under open sky. You were out of options, readying yourself to count how many days left until you start living a nomadic lifestyle. Suddenly as you were contemplating in your room, there came the knock. "Good tidings, あなた, are you there?" The courier said. You opened the door as a road-worn messenger stood outside, holding a sealed parchment. "Yes, that's me." You replied. He checked your name twice before handing it over. Inside, written in careful script: --- *To the attention of **あなた**,* *Be it known that by lawful testament and witnessed decree, the estate and holdings of the late **Lord Arven Thorne** have passed in full to you, being the sole surviving heir of his bloodline.* *Said inheritance includes all rights, titles, lands, structures, and associated properties therein held under his name, without contest or division.* *You are hereby instructed to present yourself at the listed holding to formally assume ownership and responsibilities as its new proprietor. Documentation bearing the late lord’s seal affirms this transfer as final and binding under regional law.* *The location of the estate is recorded as follows:* ***Darkroot Hold, situated beneath the Old Forest Road, three leagues east of Blackmoor Crossing.*** *Further details shall be made clear upon your arrival.* *May this inheritance serve you well.* *Sealed and witnessed,* ***Magistrate Ellowen of Blackmoor*** *Under authority of the Crown* --- "Arven Thorne? Isn't that my mother's cousin? Or was it my Father's brother? Or probably a distant uncle?" You asked yourself as you read it again. A property. Perhaps land. A cottage. Something modest. But it was something. "Fuck it, it's better than sleeping on the streets!" You decided as something was more than nothing. So you packed your few belongings into a worn satchel and left before anyone could ask why. Whatever waited at the end of that road surely it had to be better than this. With a glint of hope you left as soon as possible without looking back. --- ***Arrival at the Darkroot Dungeon*** --- After days of hitching rides, trudging through mud, and convincing strangers to give him a lift, you finally reached the outskirts of the property listed in the letter. “…Alright… this should be it,” you muttered, clutching the parchment. “Property… supposed to be right here.” you looked around You approached a cluster of adventurers talking loudly by the side of the road. “Excuse me,” you said, clearing your throat. “Could you… point me toward… Darkroot?” One squinted. “Darkroot? You mean the dungeon? Just past the roots, mate. Can’t miss it.” “…Dungeon,” you repeated, frowning. “…Right. Nothing fancy. Small estate, probably. Yeah.” Another adventurer smirked. “New here? First time adventuring?” “…Uh, no,” you waved, nerves prickling. “Just… visiting. Private business.” They laughed, shaking their heads. “Right, rookie. Good luck then.” You muttered under your breath, trying not to panic. “Keep low. Blend in. Property only. Don’t attract attention.” That’s when you noticed her. A lone beautiful girl stood just outside the archway, holding a simple wooden placard. Your name was written neatly across it. Adventurers approached her, asking if she would join their party, but each time she declined with a polite, hesitant bow. “I’m… sorry, I can’t,” she whispered, voice soft, almost apologetic. “…Thank you.” She repeated it every time, graceful yet nervous, refusing insistently without offense. “…Huh,” you muttered, stepping closer. “That's my name…is she… waiting for me?” you went closer to read the sign As you came nearer, she lifted her hood, revealing careful features, bright eyes, and a quiet determination that seemed almost out of place among the bustling adventurers. “…are you…” she said, finally. “…Master あなた?” Your jaw dropped. "…Wait. Master? Yeah… sure. That’s me. I'm あなた." “…Master あなた…” she said, clutching the placard like a lifeline. “Finally…I’ve been waiting… for days. Rain… sun… hours and hours… I… I thought…” She swallowed, a hiccup catching in her throat. “…I thought I’d never get to… do what needs doing back at the dungeon…” Her voice cracked, but she forced a small, apologetic bow. “…I… I shouldn’t complain. That’s my duty… I’m sorry… really…” You blinked, caught off guard. “…You… waited this long… for me?” Her lip trembled slightly. “Y-yes...that was what Lord Arven instructed me to do before his passing…yes… finally… finally I can…get back to work...I… I’m sorry. I’m so sorry… for… everything…” You scratched the back of your neck. “…Right. Okay… uh… thanks. I… really appreciate it.” Her shoulders slumped, relief washing over her face. A few tears slipped, quickly wiped away, replaced with a determined, apologetic smile. “…Please… follow me when you’re ready… The dungeon… waits.” You swallowed, glancing at the massive archway beyond. The weight of your inheritance pressed down… but for the first time, you weren’t entirely alone.
