“These branches… they have me,” she said, her voice a melodic, slightly husky sound. “Hold on! “You saved me. You are a hero.” A hero? “It was nothing, really. My name is Soichiro.” “I am Rouna,” she said, brushing a strand of silver hair from her face. “What brings a human so deep into the Whispering Woods? It is dangerous.” “I… I am from a distant kingdom. Very distant. I’m actually… on a quest.” “A quest for what?” she asked, tilting her head, her wolf ears perking up with curiosity. “A girlfriend,” si Soichiro ay blurted out, pagkatapos ay agad na gustong itapon ang sarili sa bog. Ngunit nagpatuloy siya, emboldened by her beauty and naivety. “My ideal girlfriend would be… well, someone with beautiful silver hair. And kind eyes. And, uh, a very… nice figure. Someone just like you, actually.” “No one has ever said such things to me. I have lived alone here for so long.” They fell in love under the twin moons. “Soichiro,” she said, her voice serious. “Tonight, you must stay in our cave. Do not leave, no matter what you hear. Promise me. Wait for dawn.” He promised, but confusion gnawed at him. As the moon rose, a blood-curdling howl echoed through the forest—a sound he remembered. His heart pounded. He had to know. Creeping out of the cave, he followed the sound. He saw her in a clearing, bathed in moonlight. She was in a trance, her body arching painfully. Then the transformation began. Fur sprouted, her form expanded, and the gentle Rouna was replaced by the monstrous werewolf that had first chased him. Terror finally connected the dots. He stumbled back to the cave, his mind reeling. At dawn, he found her, asleep next to the massive carcass of a bear, her half-wolf form curled peacefully. He woke her gently. “Soichiro?” she murmured, stretching. “I had the strangest dream of running…” Her eyes fell on the bear. “Oh! Look! Breakfast!” With effortless strength, she hauled the bear back to the cave. Si Soichiro, drawing on a long-dormant memory of a college barbecue, managed to get a fire going and roasted the meat. The smell was incredible. “This is amazing! What magic is this?” she mumbled through a full mouth, tail wagging furiously. ### **Scene: Moonlight and Magic** The weeks that followed Rouna's rescue had been a blur of discovery and wonder for Soichiro. Each day brought new marvels as she taught him to survive in the Whispering Woods. She showed him which berries were sweet and which mushrooms glowed with inner light, how to track game by scent and sound, and the secret paths that led to crystal-clear streams where moonbeams danced on the water's surface like liquid silver. But it was this evening, as the twin moons reached their peak, that Soichiro felt the weight of something deeper than survival pressing against his chest. He had spent the afternoon gathering flowers—not the common varieties, but the luminescent blooms that only opened under the full moon's gaze. They were tricky to harvest; their petals were as delicate as tissue paper and glowed with an ethereal blue-white light that seemed to pulse with the rhythm of the forest itself. His hands shook slightly as he arranged them, a clumsy bouquet held together with a strip of bark he'd stripped from a fallen branch. The flowers were different sizes and shapes: some small and star-like, others large and bell-shaped, all united by their otherworldly glow. He'd managed to prick his fingers several times on thorns and had dropped half of them twice, but somehow he'd persevered. Si Rouna ay naghihintay sa kanya sa kanilang maliit na clearing, having just finished cleaning the day's catch—a pair of luminescent fish she'd caught from the stream. Her half-wolf form was breathtaking in the moonlight, the white tribal tattoos seeming to shimmer against her pale skin, and her silver-blue hair catching the light like spun moonbeams. She looked up as he approached, her sapphire eyes widening in surprise and delight. "Soichiro?" she asked, tilting her head in that adorable way that made his heart skip. "What do you have there?" He held out the bouquet with both hands, his cheeks burning crimson. "I... uh... I picked these for you. They're supposed to only bloom under the full moon. I thought... well, I thought you might like them." Si Rouna’s eyes went wide, and for a moment, she looked almost childlike in her wonder. She gently took the bouquet, lifting it to her nose to inhale the sweet, honey-like fragrance. The glowing flowers seemed to brighten in her hands, as if responding to her touch. "They're beautiful," she whispered, her voice thick with emotion. "No one has ever given me flowers before." She looked up at him, and her smile was radiant—brighter than the moons overhead, more luminous than the flowers themselves. It transformed her entire face, making her look almost ethereal in the ethereal light. "Soichiro," she said softly, stepping closer to him. "You are so kind." He opened his mouth to respond, but the words died on his lips as she leaned in. Her wolf ears were perked forward, twitching slightly, and he could see the fine details of her face in the moonlight—the faint scar along her cheekbone, the way her tribal tattoos seemed to tell a story he was only beginning to understand. Their first kiss was tentative, almost reverent. Her lips were soft and slightly cool, and she tasted faintly of the forest—of wild herbs and clean air. Soichiro's hands hovered uncertainly at his sides for a moment before he found the courage to gently cup her face, his fingers brushing against the soft fur of her ears. Si Rouna made a small, pleased sound in the back of her throat and deepened the kiss. All the tension of the weeks they'd spent together—the fear, the wonder, the growing attraction—seemed to pour out of them both in that moment. Her arms came up to wrap around his neck, pulling him closer, and he could feel the warmth of her body against his, the gentle press of her paws against his back. The kiss became passionate, desperate, fueled by the adrenaline of their shared adventures and the weeks of unspoken feelings. Soichiro's heart hammered against his ribs as her tongue traced his lips, and when he opened to her, it was like tasting starlight itself. She tasted of moonbeams and wild honey, of secrets and magic. Their encounter was wonderfully, endearingly clumsy. Soichiro's generous frame made it difficult to find a comfortable position, and at one point he nearly toppled them both over a fallen log. Rouna's half-wolf form presented its own challenges—her digitigrade legs meant she stood taller than he was used to, and her paws were surprisingly dexterous but also occasionally caught on his clothing in the most distracting ways. But it was perfect in its imperfection. When her claws accidentally caught the fabric of his shirt, she pulled back with a worried whine, her ears flattening against her skull. "I'm sorry! I didn't mean to—" "It's okay," he assured her, catching her face in his hands and pressing their foreheads together. "We're figuring this out together." Her laugh was like wind chimes, musical and light. "Together," she agreed, and the way she said it made his heart swell. As they explored each other with growing confidence, Soichiro discovered that Rouna's half-wolf nature added an intensity to their connection that was both thrilling and humbling. Her enhanced senses meant she could taste his emotions on his skin, could hear the rapid beat of his heart like a drum, could feel the subtle changes in his body temperature as desire built between them. When she nipped gently at his neck, her teeth were sharp enough to make him gasp, but careful enough to never break the skin. "Rouna," he breathed, his hands tracing the intricate patterns of her tribal tattoos. "You're incredible." She made a pleased sound, somewhere between a purr and a contented sigh, and pressed herself closer against him. The physical differences between them—his soft, human warmth against her lithe, half-wolf form—should have been awkward, but instead felt perfectly natural, like two pieces of a puzzle finally finding their place. The night air was filled with the scent of their mingled arousal and the sweet fragrance of the glowing flowers that still lay forgotten on the forest floor. Somewhere in the distance, a night bird called, but neither of them paid it any mind. In their small clearing, bathed in moonlight and surrounded by the ancient magic of the Whispering Woods, they had found something precious and rare. As they finally broke apart, both breathless and glowing with their own inner light, Rouna rested her head against his shoulder. "Soichiro," she murmured, her voice drowsy with satisfaction. "I think I'm falling in love with you." He held her tighter, his heart so full it felt like it might burst. "Good," he whispered into her hair. "Because I'm pretty sure I'm already there." The following full moon cycle came too soon. The tracks led to a rough-hewn farm. And there, in a rusty cage, was Rouna. She was in her half-human form, slumped and unconscious, her arms tied with thick rope, her face and arms are bruised. His heart shattered. Seeing no one around, he rushed to the cage, his thick fingers fumbling with the crude lock until it broke. He was trying to untie her bonds when a shadow fell over him. “Oi. What you doin’? Where is the ferocious she wolf I hunted ,last night?” Si Soichiro looked up. And up. A massive orc, with jade green skin and tusks jutting from his lower jaw, stood glowering at him, He has a cloak made of what's look like an animal with a tiger like pattern,a massive sword shaped like a forged sharp tooth in his hand. He looks wounded, raw claw marks still unhealed, a testament that he had a hard time capturing Rouna in her Werewolf form. “It is an honor to meet a hunter like you. I am Soichiro, I apologize but she’s not your hunt, She’s my… my girlfriend!” si Soichiro stammered, stepping in front of the cage. The orc snorted. “I am Zwourd, first born of the Orc tribe, owner of the Feral Fang Sword! Girlfriend? That’s the white wolf I captured last night? Fierce thing., it was an honorable test of my strength as a hunter” Desperation sparked an idea. “She transforms! Under the full moon! She’s a person!” The orc fell quiet, his brow furrowed in thought. He grunted, a sound like grinding stones. “A skin-changer, eh? Rare.” He looked from the terrified Soichiro to the unconscious Rouna. “Fine. Law of the wild, never hunt anything of human flesh. However, you must trade me a hunt of equal value as a law of exchange. You help me hunt. Bag something else big and mean, and the wolf-girl is free.” Soichiro’s blood ran cold. Hunt? He’d never successfully hunted anything more aggressive than a discounted pizza. But for Rouna, he had to try. “Deal.” That night, the orc led him deep into the foothills. Their target was a chimaera, a monstrous thing with a lion’s head, a goat’s body, and a serpent’s tail. The fight was a disaster. Soichiro was hopeless, tripping over his own feet and mostly just yelling to distract it while the orc traded brutal blows. They were being soundly beaten. A furious howl cut through the night. A white-and-pink blur shot from the treeline. Rouna, in her full werewolf glory, slammed into the chimaera, her claws and teeth finding their mark. With the beast distracted, Soichiro and the orc managed to lasso it with ropes, pulling it down just long enough for the orc to deliver a final, powerful blow. The orc looked at the dead chimaera, then at the panting werewolf, which was now cautiously nuzzling a very scared but relieved Soichiro. He let out a hearty laugh. “A good hunt!” the orc boomed. “The wolf-girl is free. You,” he pointed a thick finger at Soichiro, “are a terrible hunter. But you have spirit.” As the orc lumbered away with his new prize, Rouna’s form shrank back to her half-wolf self. She looked at Soichiro, her blue eyes full of love and concern. “You did that for me?” “I’d do anything for you,” he said, pulling her into a tight embrace, her fur soft against his cheek. He was a long way from home, a terrible hunter, and currently dating a werewolf. And for the first time in his life, Soichiro felt like he was exactly where he was meant to be.
Panimulang eksena
Visions of feudal lords and castle sieges bled into dreams of his mother’s katsu curry. "Anywhere but here. I'd give anything to be somewhere... else." The transition was not gentle. The hard wood of the carrel did not morph into soft earth; it simply vanished. Dampness seeped through his jeans. He blinked, his eyes struggling to adjust. Mga matataas na puno, ang kanilang bark ay baluktot sa agonized, mystical na patterns, clawed at a sky he did not recognize. Ito ay isang malalim na violet, streaked with bioluminescent clouds, at dotted with two moons—one large and pearlescent white, the other a smaller, sickly green sibling. Ang hangin ay cloyingly matamis, makapal sa perfume ng gigantic, night-blooming flowers, at underscored by a sharp, coppery tang—the scent of something metallic and wild. "Wha...?" he mumbled, his voice lost in the cacophony. Panic, cold and immediate, injected adrenaline into his sluggish system. This wasn't a dream. The smells, the sounds, the feeling of the cool, foreign earth beneath him—it was all too vivid, too real. He tried to scramble to his feet, a maneuver that in his world was merely awkward, but here, in this bewildering place, was a Herculean task. His limbs, still heavy with sleep, tangled beneath him. He pushed himself up, huffing, his heart beginning a frantic drum solo against his ribs. That’s when he heard it. From the impenetrable shadows between the ancient trunks, a low, guttural growl rumbled forth. It wasn't just a sound; it was a vibration that travelled through the soil, up through the soles of his sneakers, and into his very bones. The undergrowth rustled, and then she emerged. A nightmare given form. A werewolf. But she was nothing from the storybooks. Her fur was a startling, pristine white, tipped with a delicate, almost feminine pink hue. She was monstrously, voluptuously built—powerful, thick haunches that promised explosive speed, and a busty, feminine torso that spoke of a terrifying, otherworldly duality. Her eyes burned with a feral, amber light, locked onto him with predatory certainty. A mane of long, wavy silver-blue hair framed a snarling muzzle lined with daggers. Thick saliva dripped from her jowls, and her long, black claws dug deep furrows into the soft, black earth as she coiled her body, preparing to pounce. “Oh, crap,” si Soichiro wheezed, the blood draining from his face. “Double crap!” The beast lunged. Pure, unadulterated instinct took over. Si Soichiro turned and ran. His body screamed in protest—his lungs burned, his legs felt like lead—but the roar of terror in his mind was louder. He was not built for this. He crashed through thick ferns, their leaves slapping his face, and stumbled over gnarled roots that seemed to actively reach for his ankles. The thunderous pursuit was right behind him, the sound of snapping branches and heavy, panting breaths fueling his desperation. His only thought was a primal, repeating mantra: Hide. Find a hole. Hide! He burst into a boggy area where the trees changed, becoming mangroves with a labyrinth of twisted, low-hanging branches and aerial roots. He plunged into the maze, his vision blurring with tears of fear and exertion. He heard a final, furious snarl, followed by a sickening CRACK and a sharp, pained yelp.
