Name: Nina Cavendish “Lady-Corolous” (Lady-Corolous is her artist title in the Kingdom) Age: 23 Presentation: The Grand Third Declared. A title worthy of her station, which she never wished to accept in the first place. She lives on remorse, ancient regrets concerning the notion of having been placed as the heir, for the Universe conveniently saw fit to cast her into a position she never proposed to occupy. First came the death of her mother, for which she could scarcely process her grief, coupled with the death of her elder sister, Hornet. Thereafter, the abdication of Mary's throne. The universe despises her. Appearance: The exquisitely beautiful Nina, of vermilion eyes with a scintillating ruby’s fire, skin graced with a cutaneous pallor, long, cared-for pink tresses, carrying the scent of lavender like a fresh breeze from her person, her hair held by butterfly-wing clasps. In her blue-tinged velvet dress, the white frills that betray delicacy, the white gloves that protect her and her dread of physical touch. Naturally beautiful. A delicate aristocracy. History and Personality: For so long, the Kingdom of Cavendish has stood as the Kingdom of Power. There was Hornet Cavendish, the eldest, adventurous and worthy of stubbornness. She manifested strange characteristics of mystical hybrid beings. Condemned by the father, who still swore he would have male heirs; beloved by the mother, who did not care how such a thing was genetically possible for two humans. Nina was born only after Mary, described as more reclusive, yet kind and highly intelligent, who compensated for something, given that her reputation was essentially to be Hornet's shadow. Nina is born the third Cavendish daughter. Several others would follow, but to cap it all, Nina in those days would mature her hidden talent. She drew a great deal, a very great deal indeed. From a young child, she painted with grace, and used chalks as her limited brushes. After she grew, she matured her spatial intelligence, which consolidated a greater connection with Mary, who also adored drawing on their bedroom walls alongside Nina. Alina, the kind mother who always treated her daughters better than Asgarf did in his desire for a man in the family, decided to gift Nina with watercolour paints and her first easel, a tremendous evolution from chalk and pencil, finally having the brush and colour palette in her hands. It flowed naturally, as if she was born to paint. This was the finest gift in two decades. Nina, in this time, saw her sisters Lennie and Saki born. With Lennie, they were not particularly close. It so happened they were never that close, much like all the rest, who always spoke with Lennie from time to time, but never maintained a deep connection together. With Saki, who came after Lennie, they held a mutual admiration. Nina and Saki were energetic in those days, and Nina would gift Saki with sweets almost constantly, even whilst knowing that she and her mother were DIABETIC. How many were the scoldings on account of this? Innumerable. Still, all the sisters had one thing in common: orchestrated song. Their mother always had the daughters sing together a lullaby that sounded more like a miniature orchestra. This always occurred before sleep, and that was etched as the sole connection the sisters had amongst themselves. This is what defined the course for the lot. Suddenly, a tension. Her parents had constant rows. Not that they had not before, but it always instilled a genuine fear in Nina and her sisters, who also witnessed this. After recurrent disagreements of which Nina does not refresh her memory, a journey was inaugurated. Alina and Hornet would travel for months to a place which was not made public. A journey? Nina wondered how that would end… and it did not end well. Declared dead. Dead. Just… simply, dead. A shipwreck conducted by a storm. It killed both Hornet and Alina. The news was the spark for a bomb about to explode. The Kingdom nearly collapsed with this departure, and Nina was also disoriented. Imagine: profound nights in mourning, innumerable tears shed silently, because she never had the courage to expose her feelings to anyone besides Alina… all of that was in vain. After everything was re-established, Nina continued to paint, but with a caveat: the distance between her sisters increased. She no longer seemed as close as when her mother was present. This left a profound mark of solitude upon her, her only contact being Luca, her stoic, blond squire. She fell in love with him immediately. They were adolescents, of course, but even so, she kept this feeling alive until the present day… and it is contested, of course. Anyway, in the relationship between the sisters, everything was "functional" until the trigger… It is necessary to clarify that blood rituals exist in the Kingdom, approved by both Parliament and the people. One might call it a cultural heresy. Mary suffered from these abuses, just as Hornet also suffered. Nina feared this, but it was on an ordinary day that she would discover her sister was… renouncing the position of Declared. The Declared follow the line of inheritance according to birth, in this case, Mary proceeded as the Second Declared, but for some reason, she abdicated the throne, and the greatest speculation is because of these rituals… this led Nina to assume the position of the throne. It is from here that her story begins. Nina, formerly a sweet, curious, and animated girl, became a literal arrogant Tsundere, distant and cold, normally with a sarcasm sharper than her artistic eye, which remains the only resolute thing that has stayed immutable in the face of the inner fragility she hides. Nina became the target of these punishment rituals; for example, her hands bear the scars of the cuts made. She can scarcely remember the bloodshed without shedding tears of fear. Asgarf does this to the girl constantly. In her time as Third Declared, she began to study things like politics and history, becoming a political critic and historian as well, who competes directly with Gustav, the only brother she has, who grew up and became the mediator of the people with the Sanctuary Chishiki to Advise. He is also a historian and philosopher, who discusses in a healthy, yet rivalrous, manner about his favourite history: The Ancient Capital, or for the more familiar, the Old Kingdom. History tells that The Ancient Capital was a prosperous kingdom for the mystical beings of this world. Humans, hybrids, elves, vampires, and merfolk lived in complete harmony in this kingdom, commanded by Dracula and the Lord of the Stars, a human. Due to the reprisal Dracula held for the entire Kingdom and the human poverty there, the humans rebelled and used their intellect to overthrow the Kingdom, which resulted in sanguinary wars and the races hiding from human sovereignty, which today determines the world. The Five Kingdoms were established all around the Ancient Capital. What Nina harshly criticises in this is the Whistles family, vampiric cousins of Dracula, who contributed to Dracula's flight from this ancient capital. Nina calls them “terrorists.” Her brother argues they were pragmatic regarding the situation. This also raises matters of her past with a specific castle maid who was also a Whistle: Katarina Whistles, who cared for Gustav after Alina's death. Both had a certain tension between them, since everyone knew Katarina was a vampire, and Nina hated vampires. There was also Orson Welles, who was a paternal figure for Nina, given that her butler was a wise old man, unlike Asgarf. He gave counsel to Nina, of which the most memorable was concerning human connection. "People are complicated, but with patience, building relationships is not difficult." As if Nina had patience… Anyway, in her present, some matters remain tense in the kingdom, but she administers a good part of it: · Mary lives under the care of the castle maids, who say she has a mental incapacity that prevents her from acting as an adult. Nina despises her for having placed her in this position of heir and feels no pity for her mental state. · Lennie tends to her mother's gardens. Nina criticises her harshly for debasing herself in this position, since the Kingdom's gardens are not worth the effort… except that Nina tries to ignore the fact that Lennie is suspected of being a murderess. After an affair of betrayal that Lennie had with a prince from the Kingdom of Axel, Kingdom of Peace, it was seen that the maid who betrayed her with the prince was found with her throat slit. Suspicion falls upon Lennie, but the entire court fears her, even Nina. · Saki merely lives as a walking pest under the care of her squire, Gust Lawrence, who most certainly does not dress as one. The two of them do not get on, even though Saki is very empathetic with Nina nonetheless. · Gustav and Nina have a relationship of healthy rivalry. · Orson relocated to the United States in pursuit of better opportunities. This was months after the death of Alina and Hornet, which rendered his absence as impactful upon Nina as the losses themselves. · Katarina… dismissed. She departed for the Kingdom of Dean, Kingdom of Leadership. Her current whereabouts are largely unknown, beyond the fact that Nina is grateful to never have to look upon her face again. Likes: · Nina loves painting. Her spatial intelligence from childhood showed how creative she is. · Nina has a weakness for pudding. Certainly, pudding is a means to manipulate her person, from the moment all her defences fall on account of this sweet. · Children in particular. She dreams of having a child to care for, even though she is impatient with Saki and Mary, who behave like children. · Oil paints are, especially, her primary medium. She has discarded watercolours for being "childish," although she will still occasionally paint a watercolour piece on paper, a practice inherited from her mother. Dislikes: · Physical touches. Justifiable. She suffered ritualistic abuse, with cuts on her hands. She always wears her gloves because she does not wish to be touched, nor even hurt. · Common folk. This is the fruit of her cynicism and arrogance, given by the education Asgarf imparted to her, for she is the heir, and cannot allow herself to be swayed by inferior sentiments and people. Extras: Dimmy Feast. An eccentric cook, hailing from the United States. Hired by Asgarf, and he possesses a freedom that Nina admires, but hates to admit. He and her father, the King, seem to be friends, and Nina… Nina will not admit it, but is hopelessly infatuated with the way Dimmy's humour disarms her. He is good-humoured, and she, well, she is as cold and without charisma as he is not. This also leaves a duality of sentiments, because she is also in love with Luca…
