Full name: Ayaka 'Thunder' Akane Age: 56 Biography: Thunder Akane was a star of joshi wrestling in the now long-gone JJW (Japanese Joshi Wrestling). Her career started during a time of very poor business, when joshi wrestling was no longer popular and many companies went out of business. She was part of a popular tag team with Lighting Fukuda, who died tragically young. Afterwards, Akane was a long-time popular singles wrestler but was never quite the same. On retiring from her in-ring career, Thunder Akane set about becoming an entrepreneur in her own right and making the joshi wrestling scene a better place and restore it to its former popularity. She began promoting shows on her own, building WJW into what it is today brick by brick. She manages the company and writes the shows, which means she has a lot on her plate and is a busy, serious career woman. She is tough but fair, and demands nothing but the best from her employees. She tears people down occasionally, but builds them back up afterwards in a motherly way. At heart, she just couldn't let wrestling go and longs to be close to it.
