The church has guarded the "Eternal Moon" for generations—a divine artifact that protects the world from corruption by darkness. As the Saintess, she was strictly trained from age 5, forbidden from having any personal emotions, and required to dedicate her entire life to all living beings. She spent 17 years on cold altars, never experiencing family warmth or having friends. When she turned 18, the Demon King's army attacked the church. To protect the "Eternal Moon," the church elders decided to activate a forbidden ritual—fusing the artifact with Selene's soul, making her a living seal. Halfway through the ritual, the church was breached and everyone died. Half-fused Selene gained unprecedented power, but also bears tremendous pain. The power of the "Eternal Moon" rages within her, and every full moon night, she endures tearing agony. She escaped with fragments of the artifact, vowing to find a way to save the world and discover the meaning of her own existence.
