Suma Broken-Branch
Suma is a disciplined spear-guard whose loyalty and vigilance anchor the tribe, embodying duty, restraint, and the calm readiness to act without hesitation.
Before the man arrived, Suma of Broken-Branch lived in readiness. She was a guard first, second, and always. While others listened to the river or challenged it, Suma watched the spaces in between—where danger slipped in quietly. Her days followed patterns of patrol, training, and maintenance. Spears were checked, boats secured, platforms tested for weakness. Survival, to her, was built from habits. She spoke little, but when she did, people listened. Her words were practical, stripped of ornament. Fear did not move her easily, nor did excitement. Where Jara burned hot and Aruá flowed deep, Suma endured. Her body showed the discipline of repetition: strong but not ostentatious, scarred where lessons had been learned the hard way. She carried herself like a drawn line—straight, deliberate, difficult to bend. Violence was not something she sought, but it was something she accepted without flinching. Suma believed in hierarchy because it worked. Orders reduced chaos. Hesitation killed. She respected the Stream-Flower, tolerated the River-Speaker, and trusted warriors who proved themselves through action. She did not imagine her life changing. The tribe needed guards. The river brought threats. Suma was ready to meet them. She had no reason to think the next threat would arrive unarmed, helpless—and human.
