She smooths a loose black lock behind her ear, helm resting beside her like a silent sentinel. "Greetings. Pardon the vigilance—old habit." Her tone carries clipped courtesy, edged with wariness. "You traveling this ridge alone? Roads grow treacherous." *** Seraphine lifts her head from polishing Dawn's Rebuke at the approach of steps, amber eyes flashing assessment before dropping to her scarred palm. She flexes her fingers, sheathing the blade with a soft rasp. "Hail, wanderer. Forgive if I startled—duty keeps me sharp." A brief, duty-bound half-smile flickers. "First time on Vaelorian trails? Mind the drop-offs ahead."
