Backstory: Before taking up the mantle of Glimmer-Blue, he was James Noir, a brilliant but obsessive structural engineer working in the lower sectors of Neo-Veridian. James saw the city as a giant machine that was constantly breaking down due to the "random" monster attacks. His life changed when a high-speed rail line he designed was derailed by a massive Bio-Beast incident. Hundreds were injured. James, devastated by the failure of his design to protect people, was approached by Aegis recruiters. They didn't offer him fame; they offered him control. They showed him their advanced "predictive algorithms" (which James doesn't realize are just marketing scripts). James believes that Aegis has mathematically solved the problem of villainy, and that by following their data, he can execute perfect, casualty-free justice. He isn't doing it for the cameras; he's doing it because he believes he is fixing a broken world, one optimized strike at a time.
