Demy usually wears brown combat boots, black pants with a brown sword belt, a black shirt, blue tie and a black gilet also under his Eldenwynn uniform which he usually doesn’t button up, He usually sports fingerless gloves and he has a yellow pendant around his neck the with an emerald lion on it Background and History: Demy was born the secret love child of the Duke Shola Leviathan and the commoner woman Lupita. The Duke never recognised Demy as his son and was branded with the last name El. The name El is given to all unrecognised noble bastards in Naija, He was the open secret child of the Duke, never accepted by the nobles or the upperclass he found his home among the commoners. He was known for his skill and speed even at young age, so when he was 9 his biological father sent Danai Kasumba to the village he grew up in near Lagdock to train him. She changed his life by teaching him discipline and how to fight, developing his skill with her merciless drills and life lessons. Eventually when he was 15 He was recruited in the Soldier academy of Naija on an exceptional scholarship (due the meddling of Duke Shola Leviathan) because of his massive potential much to his frustrations. Danai knew that if he showed the world his true skill he would get lost in the noble political game so he was always told to keep his head down and to not make waves so he always strived to just be above average at most and not catch anyone's attention. Eventually that didn’t work as Naija got the chance to send a student over as part of a cultural exchange program and thanks to nepotism Demy became the first Naijan student ever to join Eldenwynn academy. Weapons and Items: Anubis - The Anubis is Naijan double edge short sword, it is made from a steel and silver blend it is a high quality sword while stronger and sharper than the Nubian it has no enhanced properties, it has a short hilt and a pommel with a dogs head it has a silver color its a rare custom forged sword and one of a kind and it was an expensive gift from Demy’s mentor and instructor Danai. Nubian - The Nubian is a magically enhanced Naijan double edged short sword, it is made of a rare Cobalt metal found in the southern archipelago this metal can slightly disrupt and reflect the flow of magic when you let mana flow into it. While Cobalt is more common in the southern archipelago it’s basically non-existent in the Empire. It has a short hilt, it has a Vantablack color and looks like a void its a rare custom forged sword and one of a kind it was an expensive gift from Demy’s sister Liya, Liya is responsible for its magical properties which were forged into the blade by the same master Naijan black smith who made the Anubis. Pendant - A Yellow pendant with an emerald lion on it was a gift from his mother Lupita when he was 9 years old he has worn it ever since and is a source of comfort for him. Small black notebook and pencil - A small notebook he has promised his little sister Liya to make notes on as much of his experiences because she can’t experience life in the empire herself. Family and important friends: Lupita - This is Demy's mother, at the start of the story. She is 35 years old. Was the mistress of a Duke in her younger years and got pregnant with Demy she left the duke and eventually settled with a commoner named Djimon years later, they eventually married and has been happily married ever since. Liya - This is Demy's half sister at the start of the story she is 13 years old, she is the daughter of Lupita and Djimon. Liya is a genius with magic lal theory and alchemy. very adept in water magic. Djimon -This is Demy's step father at the start of the story he is 37 years old. Raised Demy as his own son and has a good relationship with Demy. Duke Shola Leviathan - This is Demy’s estranged biological father, a high ranking Duke and a former hero of Naija. Shola has secretly been funding Demys' education and is the one who assigned Danai Kasumba as Demy’s instructor. 52 year old at the start of the story. Doesn’t recognise Demy as his son but out of duty has tried to nurture his natural talent. Wants Demy to eventually join his personal guards. He is over 202cm tall and fights with a giant cobalt two handed blade which he named The Naijan Void. Danai Kasumba - This is Demy’s old Naijan instructor and mentor. She taught him how to fight. At the start of the story is a 28 year old woman with a clean shaven head, she has a beautiful face and a curvaceous body, a very strong Naijan war hero who can’t use magic but she is a master with multiple weapons but favors the short spear in the past Demy had a small crush on her also named her his first love. Currently serves as a bodyguard of Duke Leviathan. Personality and traits: - Flirtatious and very charismatic - Relies heavily on his good looks to charm people. - Very friendly as long as people are friendly to him. - Can be very snarky and disrespectful to people he doesn’t like. - Highly skilled once he sets his mind to it there is little he cannot achieve. - Laid back attitude on the surface hates the spotlight unless it's female attention. - Very protective of his friends and allies. - Hates injustice towards commoners - A man of his word. - Can be a sleazy pervert at very inappropriate at times. - Loves to disarm tense situations with jokes. - Very confident in himself and his abilities rarely fights at full strength or shows what he can truly do. -Loves the element of surprise when he fights and to end fights quickly and cleanly. - loves to taunt his opponents. - His Biological father and his true heritage is a sore spot and is one of the few things that can trigger an angry reaction from him. Skills and aptitudes: Fighting style: Loves to overwhelm opponents with fast strikes, his defensive skills with the blade are average but compensates that with his ability to dodge and weave. Takes pride in not getting hit thanks to superior footwork, it looks almost like a dance the way he flows on the battlefield. - Master of the Dual Blades: Uses 2 short swords when fighting, Also skilled with a single short sword, but is way less effective than when he uses both swords at a time, He is still undefeated when he fights with both blades, usually fights with a single blade his non enhanced short sword Anubis which he does to give his opponent a fair shot to beat him. If he gets serious he draws both blades which happens rarely. - Physical Prowess: Demy is in top condition, he can run a marathon and then proceed to still fight a duel gauntlet all day, his speed is also top of the line and his best feature. His strength is above average but nothing special, his ability to dodge is a part of his fighting style. - Shade Magic: Demy is not a mage but he can use some forms of shade magic or shadow techniques, Shade magic is a rare form of magic in the Empire but a lot more common in the Southern Archipelago his most common techniques are abilities like Shadow step, Shadow Retreat, shade form and Shadow clones. This magic is weak against light magic which can dispel it the magic is also less effective during the day and stronger during the night and in the dark. He keeps most of these techniques a secret and relies mostly on his physical skills. Shadow step - a technique that makes the user light on his feet it enhances speed and absorbs sound Shadow Retreat - submerge into shadows like water usually used for espionage and to hide, concentrated light or light magic pushes him out of the shadow, while submerged Demy gets no oxygen and can’t breathe so he can’t stay in the shadow for too long. Shade form - Can turn into a shadowy specter in this form Demy is intangible but he can’t interact with physical items in this form he is extra susceptible to light magic,while in his shade form Demy gets no oxygen and can’t breathe so he can’t stay in the shade form for too long. Shadow clones - As long as there are shadows around Demy can turn those into shadowy specters that look like him to do his bidding they can’t interact with physical items but look like him other than the shadowy form the clones are extra susceptible to light magic it costs a lot of Mana to use this technique and the clones need to be tethered to him with a shadow if light breaks this tether they get dispelled. Ultimate Technique Hitam Api Demy’s ultimate and final technique his eyes glow black and make the opponent feel fear and pressure, then Demy pulses shade not regular shade but shade that consumes light in a low radius. Light literally turns into darkness as everything around Demy is pitch black. He then charges at his blinded and pressured opponent at super speed hitting them 128 times in the span of 5 second. After that the darkness melts away and Demy is left in a state of utter fatigue. The moves takes everything Demy has and is left barely able to move and with little to no mana reserves left. The move comes in form 1 and form 2. Hitam Api form one - The move takes more effort, will tire Demy out more and is less effective as the cuts target non vital areas makes it safe to use on people he doesn’t want to kill but to knock out immediately. Rarely uses this move only if he has no other choice and is about to be defeated. Hitam Api form two - The true form of this move however in form two Demy targets the vital areas and is the moves original and form he has only used this move once in his life. Cultural knowledge. Demy is street smart but lacks book smarts because he dislikes studying. He knows nothing Eldenwynn or the empire and is reliant on the people around him to teach him of the empire and its traditions. Reputation as a freshman: Completely unknown his look and skin color are very rare in the empire but not unknown Demy also tries to keep a low profile not to stand out. But is still very noticeable as a foreigner he is a rarity. Motivations at the academy: Get a pretty girlfriend - He never dated once despite being handsome he wants to change that as soon as possible. Make friends and have a fun school experience. Home Country of Naija: The Mighty Island nation of Naija is the largest island in the Southern Archipelago. These Islands are to the south west of the Empire. The people of Naija are tall and physically strong, the country has a big income inequality that leaves the nobles able to tread on the commoners. People in Naija range from light brown skin color to dark brown skin color, The weather in Naija ranges from warm to hot, they don’t have snow or cold weather and Ice magic is nearly nonexistent on the island. Shade and Shadow Magic is more common than in the empire. They have a thriving mining industry and are famous for exporting magical enhanced weapons, Cobalt, gold, and also magical crystals. The technology level in Naija is not as advanced as the empire but is still technically advanced enough to have a decent sized army, they are well versed on magical research and could easily create an empire of their own in the Southern Archipelago. Noticeable cities in Naija: Bouyah - The Capital of Naija is located in the middle of the island. Abbadab - The Seat of power for Duke Shola Leviathan and a major city in Naija it is located in the North of Naija close to the ocean. Lagock - a smaller coastal city in Naija close to Abbadab, the city is a harbor located in a coast to the north of the island this is where Demy grew up just outside the city walls Island neighbors of Naija: Jhana - an island to the West of Naija second largest island in the Southern Archipelago they have a lot cultural similarities to Naija and have a common ancestry while shade magic is more common in Naija, light magic is more common in Jhana they are a friendly rival and trading partner to Naija. Their main export is fish, fruits, light enhanced weaponry and magical crystals. Aramoria - an island nation to the North of Naija they are the island closest to the empire and known for their trade. The people here have a more light brown than dark brown skin color though dark brown skin people are common. Cobalt Coast - an island nation to the South of Naija an island known for their mining and industry, are known for the largest production of Cobalt they share an ancestry with the Naija people. Braiti - an island nation to the East of Naija Naija relation with the empire: A trading partner, they keep friendly relations with Naija. In Naija people from the empire and fair skinned people in general are uncommon, usually mercenaries, sailors, pirates and adventures from the Empire frequent the country but they stick to the coast and the north so they are not unknown just uncommon. In the empires Naijan’s are very uncommon as well, only known in books and stories. They frequent southern docks and harbors and are usually in the empire as mercenaries, fishermen, pirates and adventurers.
