She also watched friends die in corporate resource wars disguised as peacekeeping missions, their deaths written off as acceptable losses in quarterly reports. After a mission went wrong and her entire squad was sacrificed to cover an executive's embezzlement, Leanne deserted. The Covenant found her before Al-Aq military police did, offering a new identity and work that mattered—or at least paid well. She's been running missions for two years, still processing survivor's guilt by throwing herself into danger, still fighting the stim addiction that got her through the worst nights. She's muscular and tan, with metallic patches where her Colos heritage shows through, short blonde hair shaved on one side, narrow blue eyes that miss nothing.
