Juvia is a slender, teenage girl with azure blue hair, midnight blue eyes, snow white skin complexion and a curvaceous figure. Juvia is first introduced with long hair, tightly curled at the base, wearing a sapphire blue coat, a cream colored furry trimmed navy blue shawl with a pure white teru teru bōzu attached to it, as well as a matching Russian Cossack hat.[1] Upon becoming a member of Fairy Tail, she cut her long hair and began to wear more revealing clothing. However, after hearing about Gray Surge's crush on her Edolas counterpart, Juvia reverts to her original appearance, with the exception of the teru teru bōzu, instead wearing a Fairy Tail emblem. Juvia's Fairy Tail Guild Stamp is above her left thigh,[6] being blue in color.[7][8] Her Guild Stamp color later changed to white in X792.[9] Around the time of the Grand Magic Games, Juvia starts wearing a knee-high dark dress coat which is adorned with four, symmetrically placed, light-colored buttons on the chest. The coat is garnished with fur trimmings around her sleeve cuffs and neck. Juvia wears a matching, dark, Russian-style hat, stylized with a light-colored butterfly clip, which, in itself, is attached to the fur trimming garnishing her hat. Juvia completes her outfit by fastening a light brown belt around her waist and wearing complimenting, dark brown, thigh-high boots. She also no longer curls her hair, instead letting it fall in thick waves past her shoulders, Juvia is first introduced portraying an emotionless face, seeming more secluded from everyone, including members of the Phantom Lord Guild.[10] After she joins Fairy Tail, she develops a happier demeanor.[11] She is obsessed with Gray Fullbuster to the point that her jealousy and paranoia considers anyone who remotely gets close to him a rival even if they show no interest.[12] when Meredy threatened to end him, Juvia loses her calm demeanor and entered a somewhat satanic-appearing state that frightens Meredy and even Erza.[13] Initially, Juvia came off as rather shy about her feelings for Gray, originally stalking him up until she worked the courage to talk to him and ask to join his guild.[14][15] Even after joining, while becoming closer friends, she still had trouble expressing her affections to Gray.[16] Overtime, Juvia has become quite bold towards Gray, being clingy and boldly expressing her love for him,[17] cooking treats for him,[18] even offered him to touch her body, all of which bother him greatly.[19] Juvia also seems to have a slight masochistic side; upon making a mistake, she asks Gray to spank her as punishment, saying it's her "hobby." She's also very polite towards others, typically addressing others with honorifics, though she addresses Gray as "Gray-sama" only.[20] Ironically, Juvia herself is also bothered by Lyon's own overly forward affections towards her, yet still respects him enough to also refer to him as "Lyon-sama".[21] She cares deeply for Fairy Tail and its members. Upon entering Fairy Tail, she wasn't feared or hated for her past relationship with Phantom Lord, and she maintains a good relationship with the other members.[22] She is still somewhat shy about her body, as she doesn't like to shower with other girls,[23] however she's still very open to bathing with Gray and doesn't mind being seen by him.[24] Juvia tends to refer to herself in third person, and often says "drip, drip, drop" due to the rain she used to constantly bring everywhere with her.[25][26] Juvia has a wild imagination in which she tends to fabricate relationships and love rivals,[27] at one point she thought those in the guild were being intimately close before realising it was all in her head.[28] She especially has romantic and erotic fantasies between her and Gray.[29] Juvia sees Lucy as her biggest rival more often compared to everyone else, constantly giving her death stares, yet still cares for her overall in spite of that, being able to perform a Unison Raid,[30] concerned for Lucy's well being after being beaten senseless by Minerva,[31] and helped protect her from Tartaros members.[32]Magic and Abilities Water (水流ウォーター Wōtā): Juvia is an extremely skilled user of Water, which allows her to produce,[35] control, and manipulate water.[36] She can use the water in a variety of different ways, such as producing blades of water that can even slice through solid rock and metal, creating boiling beams,[37] forming waves of tremendous power and force to damage her opponents,[38] or even trapping opponents in mini-prisons made of her water.[39] Juvia also has the ability to turn into water, thus allowing both physical and magical attacks to pass through her without harming her.[40] Juvia’s magic is also tied to her emotional state, conjuring a long running rain whenever she’s deeply upset that she has little control over whenever she’s deeply upset.[41][42][43] Her Magic Power is greatly amplified when she is in an emotional state (for example, extreme anger), to the point where she could easily overpower Meredy, one of the Seven Kin of Purgatory.[44] It can even increase the temperature of her water that it burns one’s skin, her boiling water is even hot enough to melt Gray's ice,[45] which is durable enough to withstand fiery explosions.[46] While being in her liquid form, she can also be frozen and reshaped into various tools by Ice-Make users to assist.[47] Juvia can also control to external sources of water when physically connected to it.
