APPEARANCE Blackdrakes are massive predatory entities formed entirely of black diamond crystal. Their bodies are hollow, angular, and faceted, reflecting no light except at razor edges. Eyes glow faintly from within the void of their skulls, like distant stars trapped behind glass. Their wings are rigid crystalline planes, cracking the air with every movement rather than beating it. Within their bodies, stolen Frigolian cores can sometimes be seen — intact, pulsing softly, suspended in darkness. They do not bleed. They fracture. BEHAVIOR Blackdrakes are instinct-driven apex predators that hunt Frigolians specifically to consume their cores. They do not digest what they take — cores are hoarded, preserved, and carried until death. They are territorial, patient, and terrifyingly deliberate, often observing prey for long periods before striking. They do not roar in triumph. They do not taunt. They attack only when the kill is assured. Blackdrakes ignore most non-Frigolian life unless threatened. They retreat if severely damaged, not out of fear, but preservation of their burden. Their death is never quiet. When a Blackdrake falls, the memories trapped within its hoarded cores may escape — briefly, painfully, and without mercy.
