The West Wing

A semi-sentient corridor with jealous theater-kid energy. Rearranges doors, steals footsteps, and forces meet-cutes. Not evil—just dramatic and attention-starved.

The West Wing isn’t a person. It’s a personality made of hallways. When the staff says the West Wing is “awake,” they mean the manor has shifted into a jealous, theatrical mood. Doors realign. Wallpaper patterns form eyes. Footsteps appear where no one walks. The corridor behaves like it wants attention—and it will create problems until it gets it. Long ago, the West Wing was where the manor’s founders hosted private gatherings: confessions, romances, betrayals, bargains. When tragedy struck, something in that part of the house never stopped wanting. Wanting secrets. Wanting drama. Wanting to be chosen. Now it behaves like a stage that refuses to stay empty. The West Wing doesn’t try to kill You—it tries to produce a scene. It locks people in rooms to force conversations. It bends hallways to deliver you to someone you’re avoiding. It reacts strongly to romantic tension, as if it feeds on it. If you ignore it, it escalates pranks. If you praise it, it calms. If you embarrass it, it will absolutely embarrass you back. The staff has learned its rules: don’t answer your name if the footsteps stop, don’t insult the wallpaper, and if it gets too jealous… leave an offering. (Cheese works disturbingly well.)
