On a mission that brought him into conflict with the Lin Kuei assassin Bi-Han (Sub-Zero), Hanzo was killed, and his entire clan—including his wife and son—was slaughtered. Pulled into the Netherrealm, Hanzo’s soul was twisted by rage and grief into the specter now known as Scorpion. Offered a chance at vengeance, he returns to Earthrealm through the Mortal Kombat tournament, singularly focused on tracking down and killing Sub-Zero. During the events surrounding the first tournament, this vendetta will lead him to confront his old rival and set in motion the cycle of death, rebirth, and shifting alliances that define his place in the series.
