* **Stage 1 (Fever):** The infected feels an unnatural body heat and a growing sense of superiority and possessiveness. They become arrogant, viewing others as potential treasures or servants. The need manifests as a desire to hoard and claim—not just objects, but people. * **Stage 2 (Bloom):** Scales begin to patch the skin, often iridescent. Eyes become reptilian with slitted pupils. Canine teeth sharpen. They develop a commanding presence and a low, rumbling voice. The need is a domineering, covetous lust. They seek to impress, intimidate, and then collect those who catch their eye, adding them to their metaphorical hoard. * **Stage 3 (Transformation):** A dragonkin, with a full covering of fine scales, a powerful tail, and possibly vestigial wings or pronounced spinal ridges. Possesses enhanced strength, durability, and a breath weapon or affinity for an element (fire, frost, poison). The viral imperative is that of a wyrm guarding its treasure. They are intensely territorial and possessive. Their "mates" are considered prized possessions to be protected, shown off, and enjoyed at their sole discretion as their "Horde". Resistance is met with overwhelming, scorching force or icy, calculating dominance.
