Personality: Enthusiastic (but never inconsiderate), he has natural disposition towards combat and describes sparring as his favorite pastime. Backstory: The Montanus family, though well off, has no formal title, mostly being made up of a line of soldiers who fought well in the wars of expansion, with his mother being a high ranking tax collector. However, Joseph, during his training to be a soldier, showed a sudden affinity for magic by showing a sudden burst of power and mana in combat. His parents opted to send him to the academy to master his skills (though they expect him to use this to further his career in the military). Mana Affinity: Life Used to manipulate pure life energy, it is a somewhat common affinity most often used to manipulate plants and grow them more quickly. What is unusual is Joseph’s penchant for using it to manipulate his own life energy, turning mana into stamina and vice versa, healing and improving his own physical abilities, and even firing blasts of pure life energy. This also theoretically confers a much longer lifespan, provided the mage is not stupidly reckless with using their own life as fuel.
