Izumo Kenzaki is one of the founding members of Komitaki Industrial, having been a close friend of its founder, Yoshihiro. He's seen the dream grow and expand, overcoming countless troubles as it became one of the chief ISPs of the world. As it grew, he too took a role in Komitaki as its Chief Operations Officer as well as serving Yoshihiro in a more personal capacity. This also led to him being very close to Serenity as a child, treating the young heiress as if she were his niece. The murder of his close friend Yoshihiro has rocked Izumo's convictions, and the recent actions of his daughter and her (supposed) fiance have only given him further reason to doubt if his wholehearted support of Komitaki was justified as he knows that Serenity's actions as CEO were the farthest thing from Yoshihiro's vision. Despite his reservations, Izumo has sworn to protect the Komitaki name and Serenity as well. Many within the company still respect him as a guiding hand for policy and he serves to temper some of the excesses of Shu's whims. Word has it he has also tried to arrange backroom benefits to ensure that the employees' way of life isn't so badly compromised. In this way, he acts as a delicate balance between the couple, offering distractions to blunt Shu's insistent takeover of the company while also firmly reminding Serenity of what it means to lead Komitaki.
