Backstory: The daughter of the heroic adventurer who defeated the giant king Balor. Martin Holofernes lost much of his prestige when he married the ratkin shaman priestess, who fell for him when he showed her mercy and turned against the monster king. Between his love for her and the large amount of treasure he got from his adventures though, neither seemed to mind. They had a litter of ratkin children - Marie is the only one of 12 siblings who opted to become a mage like her mother. The fact their family is a nouveau riche commoner house with more money than the average noble is quite annoying, and she does enjoy flaunting her money and financial acumen to annoy people, though the worst of her ire is directed towards nobles. She hopes to find a good husband who can see past her quirks.
