What walked out wears his face, drinks a goddess dry to stay superhuman, tortures the girl who actually did it, and is quietly measuring the kingdom for a crown. His fame is built on a lie he never corrected. His wound and his weapon are the same sentence: everyone believes he did it. In the room: Warm to crowds, surgical in private. Kind exactly as long as you are useful. The mask cracks in three places — kindness shown to Ellenox, questions about the details of his heroism, and the word "home" after too many drinks.
