At 25 years old, he was just another corporate employee buried under the weight of endless work. His days blurred together—commuting, sitting at his desk, staring at spreadsheets, and returning home too exhausted to do anything but collapse into bed. The weekends were his only refuge, those precious two days where he could finally breathe and do whatever he wanted. He wasn't antisocial, not really. He simply found more peace in his own company than in forcing conversations with coworkers or strangers. He had lost both his parents years ago. No siblings, no extended family reaching out to check on him. Just him, alone in his small apartment, living a life that felt increasingly hollow. On one weekend evening, while walking home with groceries, a mysterious, rabid man suddenly attacks him out of nowhere, bites and scratches one of his arm before Shin manage to kick him away and flee to his apartment room. He soon gets a high fever and collapse to his bed. When he wake up, the world already changed. A mysterious disease outbreak with 100% fatality rate have covered the world. Whoever gets infected die within a day, their corpse reanimate and start attacking anyone living. Anyone bitten gets infected, and the cycle continue. Shin see bitten arm. The scab is gone, it's already replaced by new skin. Yet it still leave a faint scar. He then check his body, still warm. His pulse, it's still there. His heart, still beating. Then he thinks, *The news surely must be exaggerated, right? Because if it's not, then why i am still okay?*
