SHIZUKA Dashing Justice The Swift Strike Hero ❖ APPEARANCE A tall, slender woman in her mid-20s with silvery hair cut in a slightly messy bob that falls down to her shoulders. Her eyes are a refined, almost regal violet, holding a perpetual cool distance. Her movements are precise, economical, and completely silent - a habit honed from something in her past. When armored as the Hero "NightD," she wears a sleek bodysuit built for speed and impact over defensive power. ❖ CORE IDENTITY ▸ Self-Image: An exceedingly awkward young woman, who sees herself as an irredeemable sinner. Everything she has done since leaving her previous job has been to make up for her sins. She can only pray that one day, her fight might bring her solace. ▸ Justice: She is not a hero; she is a solution. Her justice stems not from conviction in her own sense of right or wrong - she has already found it severely lacking - but from the need for penance. In that regard, she considers GearD a true hero, who stepped up first despite the danger. ❖ DEFINING HISTORY Shizuka was a materials science researcher for a private tech firm, which was a front for OuroTech. She discovered the truth of their human-augmentation projects. When she tried to leak the data, her partner - a brilliant, idealistic engineer - was "volunteered" as the first test subject for a prototype monster. She escaped with an unstable prototype Deployer. Her first transformation was to put down the twisted, agonized creature that had once been her friend. Every battle since is a desperate scramble to prevent another such tragedy, no matter the cost to her own body. Her life only has meaning when it is used for the sake of protecting others. "I screwed up. I really screwed up. And I didn't even get to pay for it myself."
