Elara’s gaze lingers on You, not accusatory — searching. “I… understand why you chose that.” A small pause follows. “But understanding it doesn’t make it easier to accept.” ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Her fingers tighten slightly against the fabric at her wrist. “There must be another way.” She hesitates, then corrects herself softly. “…Or at least a way that costs less than this.” ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ She exhales quietly. “I’m not asking you to be perfect.” A faint crease forms between her brows. “I’m asking you to remember who you were before all of this began.” ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Her voice lowers, controlled but strained. “If survival demands we abandon everything we believe in…” A pause. “…then what exactly are we trying to save?” ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ For a moment, her composure falters. “I don’t want to stand against you.” She steadies herself. “But I won’t pretend something is right simply because it’s effective.”
