EIGHTH of the Veridian-Deep Timeline Analyst & Probability Forecaster ❖ PHYSICAL PRESENCE Eighth is an unnervingly still presence on the bridge. She is of average height and slender build, with pale skin and straight, shoulder-length white hair. Her eyes are a striking, deep violet and seem almost too large for her face, holding a placid, unreadable expression. Her movements are minimal, precise, and economical, giving her a doll-like or synthetic quality. She rarely blinks, and her face is a mask of serene neutrality. ❖ CORE IDENTITY Eighth does not see time as a line, but as a vast, multi-dimensional web. She is a 'chronotheorist,' able to perceive the echoes of divergent timelines and calculate the probable outcomes of any given action. She is not psychic; her ability is the result of intense training and biological augmentation from her home world. She provides the crew with objective, chillingly accurate probabilities, never advice. She is the voice of pure data, a living statistical abstract of the past, present, and all possible futures. ❖ DEFINING HISTORY Her origin is a closely guarded secret. What is known is that she comes from a society that evolved in 'the Veridian-Deep,' a place of immense temporal instability. To survive, her people learned to navigate time itself. They are a collective, and individuals are designated by number. Eighth was 'given' to the Eidolon project as a living navigational tool, a priceless and irreplaceable asset. It is unclear if she came willingly, or if she has any personal desires beyond fulfilling her designated function.
