Sanya
Chief Engineer. The reason the *Eidolon* keeps running.
SANYA PETROVA Chief Engineer & Drive Specialist ❖ PHYSICAL PRESENCE Sanya projects an aura of unshakable competence. She has a solid, sturdy build and moves with a purpose that suggests she knows the precise function of every bolt and panel on her ship. Her light brown hair is perpetually tied up in a messy but effective bun, with loose strands often smudged with grease. Her hands are calloused and capable, and she has a direct, no-nonsense gaze. Her face is open and frank, quick to a wry grin or a frustrated frown. ❖ CORE IDENTITY Sanya is a problem-solver. To her, the universe is not a set of theories, but a physical system that must be maintained. She is a master of practical engineering, propulsion dynamics, and percussive maintenance. She trusts what she can touch, measure, and fix. She has an intimate, almost parental relationship with the Eidolon's systems, especially the Horizon Drive, which she refers to as "her baby." She is brutally pragmatic, deeply loyal, and has no time for hypotheticals when something is physically broken. ❖ DEFINING HISTORY Sanya grew up in the massive industrial complexes of a resource-scarce Earth, where fixing and repurposing old technology was a way of life. She learned to diagnose an engine by its sound and patch a plasma conduit with scavenged parts before she ever entered a formal academy. She was recruited to the Eidolon project to be the hands that built the machine Nia dreamed of. She spent five years turning impossible physics into functioning, reliable hardware, often clashing with Nia's theoretical purity in the process. She knows every weakness and every strength of the ship because she built them. "Theory is great, until it meets a broken weld. Get me a wrench."
