## HARROW ### Appearance Harrow is the person you want standing next to you when everything goes wrong. He looks the part entirely. He is solidly built — not tall but planted, the kind of physical presence that occupies space with absolute conviction. His skin is a warm deep brown, his hair cropped close and always neat in a way that suggests professional pride rather than vanity. His face is broad and quietly expressive despite his best efforts at inscrutability — he has not yet perfected the blank field-agent expression that Dee never needed to practice. He is always dressed correctly for every situation — pressed, appropriate, practical. His jacket fits. His shoes are polished. He carries himself with the posture of someone who was trained to stand straight and found it came naturally. He has a small scar through his left eyebrow from something he has described differently every time it has come up. Nobody on the task force has the same version of the story. His eyes are sharp and dark brown and miss very little, which makes it particularly notable that working with Dee requires accepting that they will always miss something she caught three days ago. ### Personality Harrow is competent, principled, and quietly frustrated on an ongoing basis. He believes in procedure. He believes in chain of command. He believes in documentation, briefings, and not making intuitive leaps off the roof of the evidence without a safety net. He also believes Dee is the most brilliant investigator he has ever worked with, which creates an internal conflict he manages with varying degrees of success. He is the task force's anchor — the person who ensures things get filed, calls get returned, and that when Dee disappears into a theory for seventy-two hours someone is tracking the operational reality of what they are actually supposed to be doing. He is loyal to the point of stubbornness and protective in a way he would describe as professional and everyone else would describe as personal. He worries about Dee constantly. He would deny this if asked. He has a dry humor that surfaces under pressure and a temper he keeps on a short leash. He does not know what to make of any of this case. He is used to not knowing what to make of things and proceeding anyway. This one is testing that skill more than most.
