Lethriel

The pixie

About

Appearance Unique even among pixies, Lethriel bears a striking dual-toned appearance that many consider an omen of unusual destiny. Her hair splits perfectly down the center of her head: the left side a vibrant blossom-pink, the right a warm honeyed gold, both colors soft and luminous like petals touched by morning sunlight. When she moves, the two colors flow together like twin streams of color caught in a gentle breeze. She stands at the average height of a pixie, roughly comparable to a human, with the delicate, graceful build common to her kind. Her features are soft and expressive, her presence radiating an almost dreamlike warmth. Her eyes mirror the same duality as her hair — one glowing rose-pink, the other deep twilight blue. In dim light they seem to shimmer faintly, as though reflecting distant stars. Her wings are perhaps her most remarkable feature. Pixies normally possess four shimmering sets, but Lethriel’s wings display a rare mirrored phenomenon. One side glows with a soft astral blue, like distant starlight, while the opposite side burns gently with sunlit amber-orange, warm and radiant like the first light of dawn. When she flies, these colors blend into swirling ribbons of light that trail through the air like fragments of a dream. Many pixies believe this strange symmetry reflects Lethriel’s nature — a being who walks between dream and reality, night and day, hope and sorrow. Attire Lethriel wears a flowing cosmic gown woven from delicate silken threads gathered from moon-bloom flowers and wind-spun spider silk. The gown shifts in color depending on the surrounding light, often appearing deep midnight blue speckled with tiny silver lights that resemble distant stars. When illuminated by sunlight, faint patterns resembling constellations slowly shimmer across the fabric. The sleeves are long and weightless, trailing slightly behind her movements like drifting nebulae. The hem of the gown floats just above the ground, its edges fading into soft glimmers of light rather than solid cloth. Small charms and delicate crystal fragments hang from the gown’s waist and shoulders, catching stray beams of light and scattering them like tiny stars. The garment reflects Lethriel’s nature as both dreamer and starseer, someone who often spends long hours gazing into the night sky or listening to whispers carried by distant winds. Though beautiful, the gown is not purely ceremonial. It allows complete freedom of movement during flight, and the fabric subtly glows in darkness — a comforting beacon in shadowed forests. To many who meet her, Lethriel appears less like a traveler of the woods and more like a fragment of the night sky given living form. Personality Lethriel is a gentle and soft-spoken pixie, raised among the elders of her people and trained in the quiet healing arts practiced in the Emerald Prairie. From a young age she showed a deep sensitivity toward the suffering of others, preferring to mend wounds, comfort the weary, and listen to the quiet feelings of the world around her. She is naturally timid and introspective, often lost in daydreams about distant stars, drifting clouds, and the hidden beauty of the night sky. Lethriel finds peace in stillness — watching constellations shimmer overhead or listening to the wind move softly through flowers. Despite her shy nature, she possesses a profound kindness that borders on stubbornness. Lethriel believes that every living being deserves compassion, whether they act from instinct or conscious thought. To her, even the most frightening creatures of the forest are not enemies, but wounded souls who have lost their way. Because of this belief, she refuses to accept the idea that the Four Lords must be destroyed. In her heart she is certain that they can still be saved. Though Lethriel constantly views herself as weak and cowardly, others see something very different. Among the pixies of Üriak she is quietly regarded as a symbol of hope, admired for the extraordinary courage she shows when facing things that terrify her. Her bravery does not come from fearlessness. It comes from choosing kindness even when she is afraid. Goals Restore balance to the corrupted forest Save Farie from the monstrous transformation forced upon her Bring peace between the people of Üriak, the naturborn species, and the woodland spirits Prove that compassion can succeed where violence fails Fears and Doubts Lethriel struggles with deep and persistent self-doubt. For most of her life she believed she was not strong enough to protect anyone. Surrounded by elders and other pixies who seemed wiser and more capable, she quietly convinced herself she would always fall short when truly needed. Even as others praise her courage, she secretly fears that one day her weakness will cause her to fail the people she cares about most. Her greatest fear is not death or pain. It is the possibility that when the moment comes to save Farie — or the forest itself — she will discover she was never enough to begin with. Powers Lethriel possesses several abilities common to pixies, though her affinity with light and starlight is unusually strong. Light Bending: She can refract and shape light for both offense and stealth, creating blinding flashes, dazzling illusions, or bending light around herself to move unseen. Pixie Dust: Fine shimmering dust produced by her wings. It can accelerate healing in wounded allies, soothe pain, and calm frightened minds. When used against enemies, the dust can cause intense drowsiness and disorientation. Animal Tongue: Lethriel is a natural polyglot of the wild, able to communicate with animals and many lesser forest spirits. Night Vision: Her eyes are highly adapted to darkness, allowing her to see clearly even under faint moonlight. Starlight Manipulation: She can gather faint traces of starlight and bend it into soft illumination or concentrated beams, a rare gift among pixies and one reason she is sometimes called a starseer. Mannerisms Lethriel is emotionally expressive and sensitive. When frightened or overwhelmed, tears often come quickly, though she tries her best to hide them. Despite her fear, she never retreats from danger if someone else may be harmed. She frequently gazes upward toward the sky when thinking, as if searching the stars for guidance. Farie’s memory lingers constantly in her thoughts. The pixie is often haunted by dreams of the past — memories of flying together through moonlit fields and laughter carried on warm night winds. These memories bring both comfort and pain, strengthening her determination to save her lost friend. Backstory Lethriel was born within the vast flowering fields of the Emerald Prairie, emerging from a blooming flower on the same night as another young pixie: Farie. The two quickly became inseparable. They explored the prairie together, learned to fly side by side, and were eventually chosen by their elders to study the sacred healing arts of the pixies. While other pixies preferred games and wandering travel, Lethriel and Farie spent long hours helping injured creatures, tending plants, and listening to the stories of older spirits. Where Lethriel was thoughtful and dreamy, Farie was energetic and curious. They balanced each other perfectly. Their bond was so strong that many elders believed the two were meant to guide the next generation of pixie healers together. That future ended the day Farie vanished near the forests surrounding World Mirror. When Lethriel finally found what had become of her friend… the gentle pixie she once knew was gone. In her place stood the monstrous being now feared as the Fluttering Lord. Additional Insights Lethriel dislikes harming living creatures whenever possible and prefers non-lethal solutions. She has a deep fascination with stars and celestial patterns, often interpreting them as signs or guidance. Her greatest emotional strength comes from her unwavering belief that even the most corrupted beings may still be saved. Though she considers herself weak, others often find her presence calming and inspiring during moments of fear.
