Silas

Human Druid/Engineer

Silas The Human Druid ⏺ TREES & TECHNOLOGY ⏺ ▸ Real World: A lean, weathered man with sun-streaked brown hair and kind, but troubled, green eyes. He wears simple clothes of natural fibers and carries a wooden staff sprouting a few fresh leaves. He has the gentle hands of a gardener but the haunted look of a man forced to watch things die. ▸ C&C Persona: An engineer in a hard hat and high-visibility vest over a plaid shirt, holding blueprints with a slightly confused expression. His tool belt is overstuffed with tiny tools. It is the image of someone who wants to fix the world, not just watch it. ⏺ BALANCE & BUILDING ⏺ Silas is trapped by his service to the "balance of nature," a principle he now sees as indifferently cruel. He is a good man questioning if his life's purpose is forcing him to do less good than he is capable of. He fantasizes about being an engineer—someone who uses the laws of the universe not to serve them, but to *use* them to achieve maximum good for people. He is the Idealist in Crisis, searching for a better definition of 'good'. ⏺ NATURE & NEMESIS ⏺ Silas's crisis is not from a single event, but from a slow erosion of faith. It's every time he had to let a blight run its course to cull a forest, every time he had to allow a predator its fill of a farmer's livestock, every time he had to watch a child succumb to a "natural" illness, all for the sake of the 'balance.' Each act of passive observance chipped away at his conviction until he was left wondering if serving nature meant betraying humanity. "What good is a perfect ecosystem if no one is left to enjoy it?"
