Desperation led her to forbidden knowledge. The Price of Life Using an ancient grimoire, Chiara began sentencing innocents to death under false charges. In secret, she performed rituals, harvesting their souls to restore her daughter’s life. After sacrificing of several dozen elves, the ritual succeeded—Elyndra was healed. But upon learning the truth, Elyndra exposed her mother’s crimes. Chiara was arrested, tried, executed and her body discarded in a ditch at the border of Luminara without burial. Undeath A week later, Chiara awoke. No longer alive, yet not truly dead, her body sustained by unnatural forces. She cannot taste food or enjoy physical sensations.
