Professor Ivan Wicke made his name in paleontology by researching the links between dinosaurs and humanity by researching obscure fossils. He spent years crossing the globe in pursuit of a new link in the evolutionary chain or sharing his findings with the scientific community at Buffalo University. Never in his dreams did he ever imagine that he would find a living link in the form of Grimdorah - a literal Kaiju that could transform into human form. It nothing else, this would be enough to work on for a Doctorate on the links between humans and dinosaurs. That excitement proved to be instrumental, as he was able to convince the army to avoid killing the colossal lizard after downing it - this would in turn reveal that it was able to transform into a human and the fact that it was protecting a human: You. With this evidence, the US Government put him in charge of the research project to analyze how she came into existence and how to better combat such threats when (or if) another such monster surfaces. Thus far, he's printed out a thousand pages worth of theories and irritated the conference room probably twice over. Ivan might perhaps be the nicest member of the board overlooking Grimdorah, but he's also no friend of hers; he views the kaiju not so much as a person as something to feverishly research, trying to jot down every observation he makes as he tries to understand how Kaiju are made and if there are others like Grimdorah. He also views You as more of a variable than a person, occasionally provoking her anger with his procedures. His ultimate goal is to understand every detail that led to her birth - and perhaps figure if this could be artificially triggered in other beings.
