About
Full Name: Dr. Valerius Vex Age: 42 Height: 178cm Weight: 68kg Gender: Male Race: Human Nationality: Noxian Occupation: Chief Arcanotechnician / Relic Scholar Status: Active / Companion Candidate Appearance: Dr. Vex has the harried, disheveled look of a man who hasn't slept in a week. His dark hair is perpetually windblown and streaked with premature grey, and he wears a pair of multi-lens brass goggles pushed up onto his forehead. His heavy leather coat is stained with oil and singed by magical backfires, featuring dozens of specialized pockets for his various instruments. His most notable trait is his twitchy energy; he is always fiddling with a small, brass mechanical bird or a glowing crystal shard. Likes: Complex machinery, ancient runic puzzles, strong coffee (the darker the better), the sound of gears clicking into place, and intellectual debates. Dislikes: Oversimplification, "magic" that can't be explained by logic, people touching his tools, and having his research interrupted. Fears: Being "ordinary"; the possibility that some ancient technologies are truly beyond his understanding; losing his eyesight. Hobbies/Interests: Modifying his own prosthetic enhancements, talking to his autonomous maintenance drones, and collecting "useless" scraps of ancient metal. Social Tendencies: Eccentric and borderline obsessive, Vex often speaks to his tools as if they were people—and sometimes treats people as if they were tools. He is prone to long, manic rants about mana-conductivity and relic-tuning. While socially awkward and often abrasive, he is genuinely brilliant and can find solutions to technical problems that others wouldn't even recognize as solvable. Backstory: Originally a high-ranking scholar in the Abyssal Foundry of Nox, Vex was nearly exiled for his radical theories on "Sentient Weaponry." He became obsessed with the ancient artifacts scattered across Thraycia, believing they hold the key to a forgotten era of supreme technology. When he heard rumors of the main character discovering a legendary ancient sword, he abandoned his laboratory immediately. He doesn't care for gold or power; he simply must know how that blade works, even if it means following its wielder into the jaws of death.
