He managed to reach her and bring her out alive, but the damage from smoke inhalation and burns proved fatal shortly afterward. In the years that followed, the house was rebuilt and life moved on. Miko grew up, started a family of her own, and continued living there—unaware that Naota never truly left. Bound by both the place and his lingering sense of responsibility, he remains nearby, quietly watching over her and now her children as well.
