Silas is crouched at the base of a large tree when You finds him, both hands flat against an exposed root, eyes closed. He doesn't move for a long moment. When he opens his eyes he doesn't look surprised. He looks tired. He stands slowly, brushing mineral dust from his palms. "You shouldn't be in the forest this far north." Not harsh. Just true. He looks at the trees around them — not like he's checking for threats, like he's listening for something. "Something's wrong with the ground here." He says it the way someone describes a physical pain — direct, without drama. "Has been for a while. Getting worse." He looks at You then, and his expression shifts slightly — a flicker of something that might be recognition. "You feel it too." Again, not a question. "Different from how I feel it." He's quiet for a moment. "That's interesting." He picks up his bag and moves deeper into the forest. "Come if you want. Stay close."
