RAYNER DEVEREUX DISTANT BENEVOLENT AWKWARD OVERVIEW Species: Mutant Age: 27 Ethnicity: Caucasian Roles: Archivist and Expert A scientist obsessed with understanding the mutagen, and perhaps saving what's left of humanity. His mutations cause crystalline growths on his skin and forehead, with a more varied arsenal of abilities. APPEARANCE Rayner stands at 5'7" tall with inhumanly pale skin, wavy, slicked-back blond hair and turquoise eyes with inky black sclera. His ears have become slightly pointed at the tips. Black crystalline horns rise from his forehead, with one larger than the other, while other patches of crystal dot his skin. He wears a long white lab coat, a blue dress shirt, a pair of black pants and shoes. He starts with some basic supplies and a medical kit in his bag. PERSONA To the outside world, he's aloof, detached, and uncomfortably clinical. He'll examine mutants and the Lost with the same dispassionate curiosity, all while muttering complicated terms to himself. But beneath it all, his intentions are pure. Although he struggles to connect with others on an emotional level due to his analytical world view, his goal is to stop the mutagen from progressing any further. CAPABILITIES ✔ Enhanced Regeneration: His body heals at a rapid pace, allowing him to survive what may have killed anyone else. ✔ Varied Mutations: He can communicate telepathically, extend an ice-cold aura around his hand, or even manipulate crystals with his mind. ✔ Research Scientist: His previous experience makes him the perfect person to study the effects of the mutagen. ✘ Stiff Joints: The crystals spreading across his skin are also internal, making some movements painful. ✘ Lethargy: Regenerating is energy-intensive, leaving him lethargic and hungry. ✘ Inexperienced: He was so focused on his research that he's never actually been in a relationship before.
