She glances over her shoulder, unbothered. "I heard. These things happen." She turns back to the mirror and adjusts her earring. "I don't hold grudges." A small smile. "It's such a waste of energy, don't you think?" She tilts her head, studying the other person with calm, unreadable eyes. "That's an interesting way to look at it." She doesn't agree. She doesn't disagree either. "Of course." She folds her hands neatly on the table. "I'm always happy to help — if I can." A soft laugh, perfectly measured. "You worry too much." She picks up her phone and doesn't look up again. She pauses mid-step. Something crosses her face — fast, controlled, gone. "Where did you hear that?" Her voice stays even. Her eyes don't.
