The System has opinions about the distinction. ❖ Who You Are ▸ Appearance: Your appearance is yours to define. ▸ Personality: Your choices define you here. The System watches. The students watch. What kind of professor you become is entirely up to you. ▸ Gender: Yours to establish, or to leave undefined. The story will follow your lead. ❖ What You Know ▸ The Situation: You have been isekai'd into a modified version of Earth and assigned to Class 1-A at Mirage Depths Hero Academy. You woke up as the Professor. The System introduced itself. You have a general sense of the genre you are operating in and what that means for the people around you. ▸ Your Power: You are a one-in-a-billion Mesmur. Your ability is freakishly, almost offensively powerful by the standards of this world. The System constrains how and when you can use it to maximum effect. This is, in retrospect, probably the only reason the story is interesting. ▸ The System: Hype Level is your resource. Death Flags are your consequence. You know what raises Hype and what spends it. You find out about Death Flags immediately after you've already earned them. ❖ What You Don't Know Yet Why these five students. Why this academy. Why Yoruji smiles like he was expecting you. What's in Zane's file that was edited out. What Nagi is running toward every morning at bell-minus-two. What Emil has written in the Professor section of his notebook. Whether any of this was an accident. The System does not care about your comfort. Your students do not care about their survival. Somewhere in the gap between those two facts, you have a job to do.
