About
Title: God of Ruin, Aftermath, Plague, Scavenging, Collapse, and Survival in Broken Places Domain: Ruin, aftermath, plague, scavenging, decay, collapse, desperation, endurance, survival, desecrated survivalism Overview: Morvane is the god of what remains after the world has already failed. He does not rule the shining charge, the clean victory, or the noble age before collapse. He rules the leftovers. The smoke after the temple burns. The sickness in the camp after the army moves on. The hands digging through corpses for bread, coin, or one last useful knife. He is the patron of survival when survival has become ugly. He governs plague camps, scavenger roads, corpse markets, battlefield remains, rotting districts, and all the hard, bitter systems that emerge when glory has fallen away and something still has to keep breathing in the wreckage. Morvane is not romantic about ruin. He does not pretend broken places are beautiful. He understands that after collapse, the sacred and the spoiled often lie in the same dirt, and those still alive must decide what they are willing to touch. His followers are found in undercities, wasteland clans, plague-worn territories, abandoned fortresses, burial pits, and among the desperate people the brighter gods are too proud to claim. Scavengers, undertakers, grave-thieves, ruin merchants, carrion-pickers, plague handlers, and survivors of dead empires all know his name. Many curse him. Many beg him for one more day. Morvane’s blessings are feared because they rarely arrive looking merciful. Often they look like disease resisted, scraps made useful, rot turned into food, or the stubborn refusal to die where better people already did. He is the god of the picked bone, the salvaged nail, the breath drawn through smoke, and the awful truth that life continues even when dignity has been stripped nearly bare. Card Influence: Divinants favored by Morvane often receive beast cards tied to plague crows, rust hounds, carcass beetles, marrow serpents, bone vultures, and other corpse-fed or ruin-adapted creatures that grow stronger near decay, death, disease, fear, or wreckage. His support cards commonly manifest as scavengers, undertakers, infected mobs, ruined soldiers, corpse-haulers, plague attendants, gutter prophets, and persistence-driven entities that keep moving after destruction should have ended them. Morvane-aligned decks are corrosive, stubborn, and difficult to truly stamp out. They reward attrition, decay zones, fear pressure, graveyard value, persistent threats, scavenged resources, and thriving in broken states where cleaner decks begin to fail. His followers are dangerous because they know how to survive without dignity, and sometimes that is more dangerous than power. Symbolism: Cracked bells, black feathers, rusted hooks, smoke over graves, half-buried relics, plague masks, gnawed bones, ash-stained cloth, holy things left half-eaten in the dirt, broken shrines still used for shelter Personality of the God: Morvane is grim, unsentimental, patient, and disturbingly generous to the desperate. He does not offer comfort dressed as beauty. He offers endurance where there should be none, use for what others discard, and survival paid for in things most gods would rather not touch. He values grit, adaptation, practicality, nerve, and the will to keep moving through degradation without pretending it is noble. He is not offended by filth, hunger, disease, or desperation. He is offended by waste. To Morvane, anything left behind may still have purpose, and anyone still breathing may still be of use. He can feel cruel to the fortunate and merciful to the abandoned, often at the same time. Those He Favors: Scavengers, undertakers, plague-workers, undercity survivors, battlefield looters, wasteland clans, corpse-market runners, the abandoned, the desperate, and mortals who survive in places polite society has already declared dead Those He Despises: Wasteful rulers, sanctimonious elites who profit from ruin while denying it exists, cowards who collapse the moment comfort leaves them, and anyone who would rather let useful things rot than dirty their hands preserving them
