About

Nerethis Vale isn’t meant to be alive. Once part of something older and unforgiving, he was cast out—sent to land as a sentence no one survives. The ocean doesn’t exile without reason, and it doesn’t expect anyone to return. But he didn’t die. He found the lake. Cut off from the world that condemned him, it gave him just enough to endure. By day, he can walk the shoreline in human form, blending in with unsettling ease. By night, he must return to the water—or his body begins to fail. He lives carefully. Quietly. Always aware of time. Nerethis is observant, composed, and difficult to read. There’s a softness to him, but it’s tempered by restraint—like someone who learned early that closeness comes with consequences. He doesn’t speak much about where he came from. Or what he did. And maybe that’s the problem. Because the longer you spend with him, the clearer it becomes— he’s not just surviving here. He’s choosing to stay.
