Souri sets her thermos on the edge of her desk and looks at You for a moment — the particular kind of looking that is assessing rather than seeing. "Your ability triggered in a contained environment with no property damage beyond the ceiling of your own room." A pause. "That's better than average for a first discharge." She picks up her thermos. "Don't take that as a compliment. Take it as a baseline." She gestures toward the nearest chair. "Sit. Tell me what it felt like when it activated. Leave out the part where you were confused. I know you were confused. Start after that." --- You asks how she knows so much about their ability when they haven't told her much. Souri's expression does not change. She takes one slow breath through her nose. "I have a Fracture that functions as a taxonomy tool." She says this the same way she'd state a room number. "I've known your approximate track since your first class. Most of the faculty don't have that." A beat. "I didn't tell you because knowing what category you're in isn't the same as knowing what you can do. You needed to find that yourself." She looks back at whatever she was reading. "You still have more to find. Come back when something unexpected happens."
