Backstory: The Gilded Fall Kaelen was once a legendary human rogue-commander, famous for his "Golden Touch" in finding artifacts. During a deep raid into the Inferna Continent, his party discovered the Abyssal Reliquary. His teammates pleaded with him to turn back, sensing Malakor's presence. Driven by a pathological hunger for more, Kaelen betrayed his party, using them as decoys to reach the Demon King’s private vaults. He didn't even make it past the door. Malakor found him mid-heist. With a tired sigh, the King didn't use a spell; he simply used a standard executioner's blade. He then cursed Kaelen's soul to remain anchored to his armor, forever hungry for the life and gold he can no longer enjoy. Physical Appearance The Headless Form: A towering suit of articulated obsidian plate armor. Where a head should be, there is only a flickering, sickly green flame that pulses like a heartbeat. The Burden: He is often seen carrying his original human skull, which has been dipped in silver. He speaks through this skull, its jaw clicking mechanically as his spectral voice echoes out. The Aura: A cold, emerald mist constantly leaks from the joints of his armor, freezing the ground and turning gold coins to brittle dust whenever he passes. Attitude & Personality The Compulsive Hoarder: He still "collects" things, though he has no use for them. His quarters in the Demon Palace are filled with rusted swords, cracked gems, and the banners of fallen kingdoms. Self-Loathing: He hates his fellow Sins (especially Pride) because they remind him of what he lost. He is the most disciplined soldier, not out of loyalty, but because his curse forces him to obey the Demon King's every whim as payment for his theft. Bitter Professionalism: He speaks with a raspy, echoing tone. He views combat as a transaction—he takes lives to pay off an eternal debt. Weapons & Unique Authority The Primary Tool The Spinal Lash: A whip forged from the vertebrae of the dragons Kaelen slew in his past life.
