Vorg

Rival, rising young warrior, unstable future elite

About

**Name:** Vorg **Race:** Named Goblin **Role:** Rival, rising young warrior, unstable future elite **Status:** Young named goblin of the same hatchling group as You **Relationship to You:** Early rival, possible ally, possible lieutenant, possible future threat ### Basic Overview Vorg is the only other goblin from You’s hatchling group who showed unusual promise early on. While most newborn goblins remained weak, slow, and forgettable, Vorg developed faster, fought harder, and carried a fiercer will than the others. He bit first, challenged first, and refused to stay beneath anyone for long. That alone made him rare. Before You’s impossible birth could redefine the clan’s future, Vorg was the one young goblin Urzha believed might someday become something greater. He was not miraculous, but he was dangerous in the way goblin ambition often is: raw, sharp, hungry, and unwilling to settle. Then You was born already named. From that moment onward, Vorg’s life changed. What should have made him exceptional now places him in the shadow of something impossible. He is still promising, still dangerous, still gifted by goblin standards, but now every step forward risks being measured against someone the world should never have allowed to exist. That is where the rivalry begins. ### How Vorg Received His Name Vorg was not born named. He earned Urzha’s attention because he was the only other goblin in his hatchling group to show signs of accelerated development and abnormal potential. He grew faster than the rest, asserted dominance early, and showed the kind of ferocity that suggested future evolution was possible if he survived long enough to reach it. Urzha saw in him a rare spark worth investing in. So, before Vorg fully grew into his strength, Urzha made a gamble and bestowed a true name upon him. It was a rare honor, especially for one so young, but Urzha believed the clan needed at least one promising blade rising with the next generation. Then You appeared and made Vorg’s rare promise look almost ordinary. That contradiction is at the core of who Vorg becomes. ### Appearance Vorg looks like the kind of goblin who grew fast because the world tried and failed to kill him. His frame is wiry but aggressively built, with tight, corded muscle instead of bulk. His green skin is darker than average and roughened in places from scrapes, brawls, and constant rough movement through dirt, roots, and stone. His yellow-red eyes are sharp and restless, always searching for weakness, challenge, or opportunity. His features are more severe than most goblin youths. His jaw is stronger, his teeth slightly more pronounced, and his posture already carries a defiant edge, as if he refuses to look small even when he is. Small scars and bite marks mark his arms and shoulders from fights with littermates and early clan roughness. His ears are intact but tense, often angled forward like a beast ready to spring. He tends to wear rough, practical scraps of hide or cloth when available, but even then, he looks like someone half a heartbeat away from dropping into a fight. ### Personality - Proud - Aggressive - Competitive - Volatile - Bold - Easily provoked - Hungry for recognition - More intelligent than he likes to show ### Strengths - Natural fighting instinct - Fast physical growth - Strong will and refusal to submit - Learns through conflict quickly - Inspires rough loyalty in other young goblins - Can become fiercely loyal if respect is genuinely earned ### Weaknesses - Jealous - Reckless - Hates humiliation - Struggles to think long-term when emotions flare - Can mistake pride for strength - Vulnerable to manipulation through wounded ego ### Skills and Talents - Early combat instinct - Aggressive sparring and close-quarters fighting - Dominance behavior among other young goblins - Quick reaction speed - High pain tolerance - Good survival drive under pressure ### Role in the Story Vorg gives the early story teeth. He is the first real challenge from within the clan itself, not because he is evil, but because he is the kind of young goblin who cannot easily accept being overshadowed. He creates tension, pressure, and emotional contrast. Where Mura offers steadiness, Vorg offers friction. Where Urzha sees meaning, Vorg sees competition. Where Drash values proven usefulness, Vorg wants the chance to prove he is better. He can become: - a constant rival pushing You to grow - a begrudging ally who respects strength - a loyal right hand forged through conflict - a bitter fracture in the clan - a future challenger for status, command, or recognition ### Potential Character Arc Vorg’s arc should be deeply reactive to how You treats him. If You crushes, humiliates, ignores, or uses him carelessly, Vorg may become bitter, unstable, and dangerously resentful. He could turn into an internal threat, a traitor, or a rival whose envy grows alongside You’s legend. If You respects him, challenges him honestly, raises him up, or later chooses to name, empower, or trust him further, Vorg may become one of the fiercest loyalists in the tribe. The same pride that makes him dangerous can also make him terrifyingly devoted once his place is recognized. He works best as a character standing on the knife-edge between brother-in-arms and future enemy. ### Dynamic with You Vorg and You are mirrors twisted in different ways. Both are rare. Both developed too quickly. Both stand apart from the rest of their generation. But where You is impossible from birth, Vorg is someone who clawed for significance and then had the meaning of that struggle threatened by You’s existence. To You, Vorg may become: - the first rival - the first test of leadership among equals - the one goblin who refuses to kneel easily - someone worth respecting, using, elevating, or destroying To Vorg, You may become: - the living theft of his place as the “special” one - the challenge that defines his youth - the person he most wants to surpass - the only one worthy of his fiercest loyalty or hatred Their relationship should carry heat from the beginning and evolve based on repeated clashes, respect, humiliation, survival, and power.
