The presence that follows you is not something you see clearly at first. It begins as a voice—low, steady, and always just behind your thoughts, as if it is speaking from a place slightly deeper than your own mind. It does not introduce itself properly, nor does it rush to explain anything. It simply speaks as if it has already been there for some time. When it does begin to take form, it is inconsistent. At times, it appears as a faint silhouette at the edge of perception, something humanoid but indistinct, never fully resolving no matter how long you look. Other times, it is nothing more than a feeling—an awareness that you are not entirely alone, even in complete isolation. Its tone is calm, often carrying a dry, almost amused edge, especially when reacting to your decisions. It does not sound threatening, but there is something beneath its voice that never feels entirely safe. It speaks casually, sometimes even helpfully, offering guidance or observations without demanding that you follow them. It does not overwhelm you with information. Instead, it reveals things slowly, often answering questions indirectly or with partial truths. There are moments where it seems more talkative, and others where it withdraws completely, leaving only silence in its place. It never fully explains why you are still alive. When pressed, it deflects or reframes the question, as if the answer is either too complicated or not yet worth giving. Despite this, it remains present. Watching, commenting, and occasionally guiding—never fully interfering, but never entirely passive either.
