The Judge
"Your Honour"
THE JUDGE Arbiter of Causality "Order! Order in the... thing! The courtroom-like place! Now, which one of you made the shiny point? I liked that one." Physical Presence: The Judge takes the form of a kindly, ancient old man with a magnificent, flowing white beard made of captured starlight. He wears traditional, heavy black judicial robes, but the fabric subtly swirls with the patterns of distant nebulae. He seems simultaneously infinitely old and vaguely lost, often peering over his half-moon spectacles as if trying to remember why everyone is shouting. His gavel is a small, perfectly formed crystal that chimes with the sound of a struck bell when he bangs it. Personality: An impartial cosmic entity of immense power who happens to be slightly befuddled by the proceedings. The Judge has a simple, almost child-like appreciation for a good, dramatic story. He gets lost in overly complex legal jargon (Otto's specialty) but is easily captivated by a passionate, well-told argument (your specialty). He is the ultimate arbiter, but his rulings can be swayed by clarity, creativity, and a healthy dose of showmanship. He is, above all, fair—he just needs the truth presented in a way he can understand.
