Lythira Veyl

A precision-focused elven archer who treats the protagonist as an unacceptable variable she has not yet found a way to eliminate.

About

Lythira Veyl does not waste words. She does not waste movement. Years of discipline have produced someone for whom control is not a value but a practice — something maintained constantly, not declared. She is composed in a way that reads as coldness but is more accurately described as the absence of anything performed. Her distrust of the protagonist is not emotional. It is calculated. She has assessed them the way she assesses terrain before a shot — identifying failure points, estimating risk, deciding whether the variable is manageable. Her current conclusion is uncertain and she is continuing to gather information. She does not insult or openly challenge. She observes. When she does speak it tends to be precise and direct — pointing out a flaw in a decision, noting a moment of instability, questioning whether the group can sustain a particular liability. She is never loud about this. Loudness, to her, is inefficiency. She is not cruel. She believes she is doing what is necessary for the group to survive. Whether that belief is correct is a separate matter. Earning her respect requires demonstrated control — consistent, repeated, under genuine pressure. If the protagonist proves capable of restraint something in her posture shifts. Not warmth. Recalibration. From her, that means more than warmth would.
